Hi everybody! I recently proposed to my girlfriend of 9+ years at Sunset Pointe (on my 30th b-day) and of course we are trying to plan a Disney Wedding.

I've read quite a bit of these blogs trying to answer my own questions but haven't found all the answers I am looking for, I was hoping you all could help me out.

The current plan is Escape wedding at Yacht Club Gazebo, release for individual lite-lunch at F&W Festival in Epcot, followed by dinner at Le Cellier or dinner reception/dessert party at an Epcot Pavilion.

Sorry no picture of the ring, apparently I have to get to 10 posts before I can post pictures.....I tried....

Questions:

1. If we upgrade to the Wishes Package from Escape, what kind of discounts does Disney offer (if any) on tickets or room rentals?
2. Does Disney offer any wedding discounts for DVC or annual pass holders?
3. If we go with Escape and are required to spend 4 days at a Disney property, can we use our DVC points for a room?
4. Does Le Cellier service parties of 20 guests?
5. Can we rent an Epcot pavilion for a combined dinner reception/dessert party?
6. Can Le Cellier cater off their menu to a reception being held at an Epcot pavilion?
7. How long are Epcot pavilion rentals? If they are limited, what time is it best to start so that it ends with Illuminations?
8. In renting a vintage car, (probably the Rolls) how long is the rental for and any ideas on how much?
9. Since our reception is likely only to be in the 20-30 person range are we limited as to which pavilion we can rent for reception/dessert party at Epcot?
10. Suggestions for the best/your favorite Epcot pavilion for aforementioned reception/dessert party?
11. This will all be during Food and Wine Festival, will that present any special problems?
12. Any suggestions/leads for a Secular-Jewish or Secular person to be an Officiant? (preferably female)

Thanks in advance for any/all answers! I'm sure i'll have plenty more.....

Welcome and congrats! I'm on my phone here so I don't have the link but you must immediately google and purchase the passporter's guide to Disney weddings and honeymoons. It comes in both an immediately downloadable (& update able) E book format and as a paperback book. IT IS INVALUABLE!! it will answer so many questions! I'm sure many will post here but run don't walk to the interwebz and check it out!!:goodvibes

Definately get the book. Also, check out ******************** they have lots of info on weddings and prices (although they might not be up to date). But here are a few answers that I can think of off the top of my head:

1) The discounts on room rentals are: 30% Deluxe (w/ meeting space), 15% Deluxe (w/o meeting space), 15% Moderate, 10% Value.

2) As of now I am pretty sure they do not offer discounts for DVC members or pass holders. Their discounts are more within the wedding planning and have to do with the use of their services.

3) Usually you can stay on Disney property and just phone in your reservation number to DFTW to have it count towards your minimum room requirement.

6) When you go for your planning session and menu tasting you can request things you like the most from le Cellier to be on your menu.

13) Disney is very gluten-free friendly and you could probably just get the mini-cake from Disney no problem. Plus, if you plan on doing everything in Epcot, you won't be able to bring in food from outside vendors.

Hope this helps!

Sorry the website I linked blocked out. It's www dot magicalkingdoms dot com

It has lots of info that could help you!

Questions:

1. If we upgrade to the Wishes Package from Escape, what kind of discounts does Disney offer (if any) on tickets or room rentals? Your guests get about $20 off park hopper tickets and the discounts range by what time of the year and what resorts you choose, our value is around 15 to 25% off per night, our moderate is 10 to 20% off, and our deluxe is 30 to 40% off. We're having a weekend wedding so the discount is steeper on the weekends since the rate is flat each night.
2. Does Disney offer any wedding discounts for DVC or annual pass holders? On the wedding itself or to guests attending?
3. If we go with Escape and are required to spend 4 days at a Disney property, can we use our DVC points for a room? Yes
4. Does Le Cellier service parties of 20 guests? I'm sure you could try with group reservations, but given its popularity if may be difficult. Most restaurants will only book large parties the first or last seating.
5. Can we rent an Epcot pavilion for a combined dinner reception/dessert party? Yes, but it would trigger the $7,500 Escape minimum and Escape receptions are limited to 2 hours. The Epcot pavillions have limited hot food available.
6. Can Le Cellier cater off their menu to a reception being held at an Epcot pavilion? Le Cellier won't cater but the Epcot kitchens can make an approximation of the dishes from their menu.
7. How long are Epcot pavilion rentals? If they are limited, what time is it best to start so that it ends with Illuminations? Regular dessert parties are an hour and you have the option to extend. The schedule them to begin 30 minutes before the start and end 30 minutes after the start.
8. In renting a vintage car, (probably the Rolls) how long is the rental for and any ideas on how much? I'd check the passporter for this..
9. Since our reception is likely only to be in the 20-30 person range are we limited as to which pavilion we can rent for reception/dessert party at Epcot? Yes all of the countries have minimum and maximum numbers.
10. Suggestions for the best/your favorite Epcot pavilion for aforementioned reception/dessert party? UK Lower or Upper
11. This will all be during Food and Wine Festival, will that present any special problems? Depends...is your event on a Saturday? My consultant said they have stopped booking dessert parties during Food and Wine on Saturdays due to crowd levels. This might extend to Fridays too...I don't remember off the top of my head.
12. Any suggestions/leads for a Secular-Jewish or Secular person to be an Officiant? (preferably female) Can't help here...sorry

Thanks in advance for any/all answers! I'm sure i'll have plenty more.....

Answers are above in red. :thumbsup2
