So many choices... another "first night dinner help" plea!

After months of planning, I still can't decide where to eat for our first night, and we leave next week!

Our flight gets in at 4:45PM and we're taking the ME so I'm looking for something around 8:30PM or 9. Its just me and my best friend, both 22 year old girls, flying in from CA... so "9:00PM" will really feel like 6PM to us, so we're not too worried about the late hour. Originally we were scheduled for Coral Reef but I moved that to another date during our trip.

I already checked reservation availabilities, and it looks like there's times open for most (out-of-park) places, just not AK, DHS, & MK places, Le Cellier, Garden Grill, and Rose & Crown. Anything else on the dining plan is fair game.

I just can't decide if we'd rather go to DTD (Fulton's? Raglan Road? Wolfgang Puck Cafe?), or the Boardwalk (Flying Fish? Beaches and Cream? Yachtsman?), or eat somewhere with a view of the castle (Narcosees?), or stay and explore the hotel (AKL... so Boma? Sanaa? Jiko?) or go into Epcot... its only my second trip and the first was mainly just to run the half marathon earlier this year.

We're on the deluxe dining plan and using two credits for the dinner wouldn't be a problem. We're already eating at the following places during our trip:

Breakfast
Boma
Cinderella's Royal Table
Kona Cafe

Lunch
Sci-fi
Grand Floridian Cafe
Via Napoli
Earl of Sandwich

Dinner
Coral Reef
Tutto Italia
'Ohana
Le Cellier
California Grill

Help! Too much thinking :headache: :lmao:

Really depends on how tired you get after travel. Sometimes after a plane ride all you want to do is plop down and take it easy. In this case I'd recommend eating at your resort and just relaxing to get ready for the rest of the week.

However, if you think you will be a bundle of energy ready to get going then I'd probably suggest Downtown Disney (Raglan Road or the like). You can walk around and enjoy the various shops and clubs there.

Looking at your list of restaurants I would also suggest if you are the dinner-show type to take a look at the Luau or the Hoop Dee Do Revue at some point. Those cost 2 credits, but are extremely fun. I know the HDDR has a 9:30 show sometimes(all the time?)

If we had *two* first nights I think I'd try to make it to California Grill - it would be great to see the fireworks from there - or one of the DTD restaurants - they all look so good! We are arriving earlier, and as a result chose Boma. We wanted to check out the resort and animals, and have heard too many good reviews of Boma to miss it. But, it would be dark by the time you'd arrive, so I think that would be a significant negative when it comes to seeing the resort and animals...

I would book at Boma or Jiko and spend your first night relaxing at AKL. Morning will come a lot sooner that expected and you'll need your sleep.

This is very close to what I was going to say too. If you wanted to stick around the resort, I've heard a lot of great things about Jiko. This is on my list for our trip this year. But I'd also be tempted to go to Raglan Road.

I say keep the running around for the rest of the week. I would probably stick around the resort since you won't have your own car and you will be getting to the resort late (even though it may not feel late to you).

We're usually tired and like to hang out at the resort but-- if you guys are raring to go--I say DTD! Especially if you don't have planned for another time during your trip. With so much to see and do, you can wander around, shop if you like, nibble your way around the whole place. Lots of sandwiches and desserts-something for everyone. It might be more fun to graze and taste everything rather than sit down for a few hours waiting for food. You have so many great restaurants planned for your trip, a day of eating junk food might feel good--or should I say "bad!";)

I would stay close to the hotel. When we get in from a flight at night we really don't want to do anything. I would choose Jiko. Me and DH ate there last trip and we really enjoyed the food.
