Is there absolutely no way I am going to find an Xbox 360 for Christmas without going to Ebay?

Don't know, but I'll give you a nice little *bump* for ya. Hopefully someone will be able to answer this.

Dh has been told that stores do get them in but on a limited basis. It would be a right time right place situation.

He was calling the stores to ask when their next shipment would be coming in, some stores are more forthcoming with the info then others.

I heard someone in town got one at the Target on 192 - are you calling around? I guess it's still possible. but you're gonna need a lot of luck.

That's what I thought. That is how I got the PS2 and the first Xbox. Plus, it helped that I worked in retail at the time.
Ok, I guess I am going to have to keep looking. I looked at alot of online stores and they all say "not available" on it.
If anyone else has any inside info please let me know!

Haven't you heard the news? Don't get one. There is at least one class action suit going in because of game systems shutting down.

They have a flawed design that results in the unit overheating and shutting down. There is no fix and the design for the second wave of units will have to change. I've talked to people who worked on the project and the yield through the factory is terrible, part of the reason there are so few available.

Just wait until the week of the 26th and the amount of people complaining having opened the ones they wrapped for Christmas.

There's a thread on the budget board about htis subject.

Someone posted Best Buys getting shipments this week.

We have an XBox 360 and it's ok. I guess I don't see what the fuss is all about.

Yeah, a friend emailed me that article. I actually had the same problem with the first one. After a few months I sent it in and they sent me another one. I just really wanted to have one under the tree...

I'm waiting for awhile. If you do a google/yahoo search of xbox 360/problems/recall it appears that some owners are having trouble with the xbox 360. (No recall has been announced).

I'd hate to drop 300-400 dollars and have the system act up.

No, I haven't been calling around, just stopping by stores and asking. I called the Walmart on John Young and they said that they aren't getting any until mid January and even if they were they wouldn't hold them. I guess that's why I didn't really want to call.

If you must have one despite the problems, check your local GameStop. The one near me had some on Saturday.

there is a few stores in georgia that has them, my friend just bought her husband one last night at best buy

DH told me that was happening because the new XBOX 360's were connecting live to the older boxes.

I think the problem has been fixed.

i never heard of that before, but we dont have one
