So now thatHollywood studios is opening at 8:00 a.m. with the 7:30 early entry for resort guests, just how early are people coming to open the park? Before, I read that people were getting to the park 45 minutes to an hour before early entry to ride Rise -it that still the case?

Another question I have is how does this new opening time impact the genie+ 7:00 a.m. login? are you able to log in at the park and is it a bad idea to try o do it at the park vs. somewhwre else?

Thanks in advance for the help!

We went yesterday. We have a car so drove from SSR. we got there at 7:02 and jumped on Toy Story at 7:30 taking about 5 minutes to walk the que. Tried getting an ILL for ROTR but had a problem getting through to a time and by the time I did get through at 7:01 all ILLs were taken.

Keep checking after 7:02. The magic time for new times to appear is 7:17.

Yes. That's still the case.

It doesn't really impact the 7:00 AM login. You are able to log in at the park. It's not a bad idea to try to do it at the park vs. somewhere else.

Are they still holding people at the TOT and RnRc (Sunset Area) until right before 7:30am, but letting people go to Smuggler's Run early?

On our recent trip we were at DHS at 7AM (ETPE was at 8 AM) just as they were opening the security checkpoints. I would assume that if ETPE starts 30 minutes earlier people will be arriving 30 minutes earlier. It’s been proven that a lot of people are willing and able to arrive as early as they’ll be allowed in these days.

We made our first G+ LL reservation right at 7 AM while still outside the park and purchased an IALL for ROTR at 7:17 while being held at the tapstiles. We were let in at 7:30.

With ETPE at 7:30 you might have to make that 7:00 reservation just as you are entering the park. That shouldn’t take more than a few seconds so you can either do it while walking or just step aside for a few seconds to make it.

DAK had a 7:00 ETPE when we were there and didn’t open the tapstiles until then. We arrived shortly before 7 and were a way back from the front ( intentionally because we didn’t intend to join the rush to FOP.)

I made our first LL while inching up toward the tapstiles and then waited outside the Navi ride until 7:17 to get our IALL for FOP.

How much were you able to get done after Rise and how long were the waits?

Our ROTR return time was 9:40-10:40. We planned to do rides in the morning, have lunch early, then take a break from the park and return later.

The rough summary of the rides for the morning was:

1. 8:00- TOT -first elevator of the day because of early arrival
2. 8:15- RNRC- walked through preshow and were on and off quickly.
3. 8:30- MMRR- wait was about 15 minutes as offsite guests were being let in.
4. 9:15- TSMM- wait was posted at something like 45, but we expected it to be shorter and were going to have to wait for ROTR anyway. Actual wait was about 25.
5. 10:00- Used LL for ROTR.
6. 10:55- Used LL for MFSR.

We did not do any more rides at DHS after that, but posted wait times were all getting long. We could have gotten a LL for Star Tours, but of the adult daughters with me doesn’t like how she feels when she does that ride so we skipped it.

We had planned to come back to DHS later but because we had done all of the rides we wanted except Slinky, which we could do (and did do) two days later, we decided to hop to MK later in the day instead, and we used our Genie + for things there.

If we had stayed at DHS after lunch it would have been more for shows than rides while we stacked G+ LL for later. Instead we used that stack at MK.

I hope our HS mornings go like this! 🤞🏻

We were there Monday April 4. Early entry was 7:30am. We showed up at 6:20 am and there was only 2 other families there already. The lines started building up pretty quickly though. They started letting people in by 705 & allowed us to go straight to the rides. We didn’t run but walked quickly so there was a decent amount of people who got ahead of us but we still walked right onto the ride by 715.
Was able to grab an ILL for ROTR during a 7:17 drop (for 10am) as we wanted to ride it twice.
After that we did MFSR (10 min wait), TSMM (15-20 min wait), MMRR (we had a genie+ reservation for 8:30am), RNRC (30 min wait). Then headed for round 2 of ROTR.

We ended up skipping TOT & SDD as the wait times were very long and the only availability on genie+ were for later in the day and we were switching to Animal Kingdom at 2. But we were happy with what we were able to get done!

When you say "got there," by what means did you travel? I'm very confused as to how anyone get there more than 60 minutes before the early entry time because they won't run the Skyliner and I heard that that won't let cars in to park. Can rideshares get in earlier? I know the Crescent Lake hotels can walk there early, but are rideshares allowed to drop non-hotel guests off there if we don't have restaurant reservations?
I'm very anxious to be there early for MTFBWY, but I can't figure out how.

We took an Uber. Had no problems being dropped off that early. They did stop us and the couple others there right around the skyliner area and made us wait there until about 6:30 when they let us go through security.

We were there this Friday and they did not let anyone until almost 7:20. I was trying to buy my ILL for Rise from the 7:17 drop as I was tapping in.

Yea not sure how they decide when to let people in earlier! The cast member said to us they were giving us a few minutes at 7 to get our genie+ selections before letting us in, which is why they started letting us in about 705.

Wow! With that kind of crowd, how did your morning go? What were the lines like?
Really well. We had an ILL$ for RoTR. Went to MMRR, ToT.
Had Genie + for MMRR (2nd ride), RnRC, Smugglers Run, TS Mania.
Walked up for Frozen and Indy.
Stopped at BaseLine for drinks.
The only thing we didn't do was Slinky. It also was the day the park closed at 5.
While I'm still not a fan of Genie + compared to FP+, I'm getting better at stacking.

We were 4th in line yesterday to get into HS for early guests.

We got the 6:05 bus from AK lodge. They held us at the entrance until 7:05 so I had time to book my first genie+ selection (slinky dog) at 11:55, and bought a lightning lane for rise at 2:50.

7:05 we were let into park and ran to slinky. They held us at the slinky entrance until 7:30.

7:30 let into ride, we were in the second car of the day.

After slinky we did millennium falcon. We were in line for Rise by 8:07, and it had a 5-0 min wait. In broke when we were in the room just past the storm troopers. We waited for them to fix it and were out of there by 10.

I guess in large part, it boils down to what you want to go for first - Rise or Slinky. it does sound like w. Rise, you can get on as soon as you can get to it after being let in, but with slinky, they don't start it up until the start of early entry. I guess the converae of that is trusting that Rise will be working when you walk all the way back to it.

I'm still unclear on this - is there early entry for onsite guests every day? I see on the park hours calendar extended evening hours but nothing about mornings so am guessing yes...but want to make sure. So for an 8am park opening day at HS, we can get in at 7:30am (staying onsite) and should plan to probabaly get there no later than 6:45/7am-ish for best results. Sound right? TIA!
