Did it sound like she was calling him "Tom"?

No..I think she was calling him "Tone"

The HBO website does say that the woman who answers the phone is not carmela....I wonder what this is leading to...cause you KNOW there is a reason for everything

I thought her voice sounded like Adrianna.

That was definitely Gloria on the phone in the dream.

I really don't want Tony to die! I don't want him lingering in a coma either. Wake up!!

I think Tony is going to be in the coma for awhile. This week showed his family's (blood) struggle with his condition. Next wek will show his other family's (mob) power struggle and dealing with a boss that is here but isn't. I could see the show ending up with a scene/sound that could either mean Tony is dead or coming out of his coma. Leaving viewers (and potential movie goers) to wonder if Tony is dead or alive.

As for the voice onthe phone, I think it may be Charmaine (Artie's wife.) Tony talked last season about how he had been thinking about her alot and was even calling her on the phone. They knew each other long before he came into the "family" officially (although he was born into it.) I also think that it could be a woman we have never met before. I definately don't think that it was Anabella Sciorra (sp?) as it didn't sound like her at all.

I like the direction they are taking the show. So different from previous seasons. I'm anxious to see how it turns out. I do think that David Chase will end it with more questions than answers!!!!

I thought last night's episode was B O R I N G. I understand they are trying to show the trauma his family is going through and what his life might have been without the mob but it just went on too long. Did anyone else think the girl playing Meadow has gotten way too thin?

Hmmm... I thought it was Artie's wife Charmane (sp?)... I remember Tony saying in one episode that he thought she was a nice woman ;)

HayGan - just saw your post. Great minds think alike :teeth:

You know...Carmela was talking about Charmain last night...maybe...they don't list the voice in the credits...DARN!

I really liked the episode.

I, too, wonder where this is all going. I looked at the info for the next 2 episodes on the cable box guide but it doesn't really say much.

I like the little funny moments. Christopher tells Paulie not to buy Tony a stereo for his hospital room and then he buys one.

Does anyone else want to slap Janice. I know a woman just like that. I just want to crawl in the tv and strangle her.

Maybe Meadow is a bad actress. She just doesn't sit right with me.

I didn't think it was Carmela on the phone. Thanks for posting about that.

Did anyone else notice he was sitting in the same hotel room at the end of the show? (even though it was a different hotel than the one he just checked out of) Wasn't it????

I thought last night's episode was pretty boring too ! I did like the alternate life and wish they would have focused more on that rather than the hospital scenes, it was a bit much

I thought the voice on the phone was someone we don't know, I didn't think it would be someone we're familiar with since it's his alternate life

I had the feeling the whole time Tony was in Hell. I think he will die. I hope I am wrong. This show will be missed at the end of the season

I said to my husband after it was over that he was in Purgatory. I'm not familair with what happens after but I thought the episode was very interesting.
I find it odd that a show like this has so much symbolisim just like the novels I used to read for English. I think David Chase is a genuis, I have to say this show always leaves me thinking for the next two days or so.

Oh, and AJ just ticks me off. I really hope he doesn't go after Uncle Jun. Can you see him running the family? He is just so stupid- I don't think so!

I was just telling my DH last week that I felt they would keep Tony in the coma for a while because it gives the writers a ton of other story lines that they couldn't normally do.
The crew fighting for power and how things would go if Tony were dead.
How Carmela will deal with him gone, kids too.

I think they will be able to explore those stories so we could see what would happen IF Tony was dead. because if they just killed him, the show would be over.

I personally think he will come out the coma to see all the mess going on and then die next year. (they are showing the last 6 episodes next spring).

I was thjinking for a while ther that AJ was gonna kill his Dad, pulling the plug, or do something crazy

Thanks for the link to that article. Very insightful.

I also think that the feds are going to be looking to Christopher as a cooperator. There's no way they are just hanging out at Satriale's for the food. Plus Christopher was then seen at Bada Bing talking to those Middle Eastern guys, right after they mentioned their terrorism work. That was not random. It will be interesting, I wonder if Christopher is passed over as interim boss for Silvio or Paulie, maybe he will get resentful (as we know he can) and go with the feds. How poetic given what he did to Adriana!!!!!!!

I think it would be an wonderfully gutsy move if he did end up dying. Which is why I would say absolutely not...except this is HBO, so then again, maybe!
