Getting in line at 6 am for 7 early entry; having to run to try to get ahead of other people to ride the ride?? I know it's new, but with the addition of cb, there's just to mAny rooms with to many people all going to the same place for ee. It's not a benefit. Thoughts??

I agree! I am very nervous about our upcoming trip in a few days. I had no idea when we booked our trip that we would be there opening week due to the later than expected grand opening. It's going to be CRAZY!

I think it is TOO soon to tell how this is going to play out long term.It is only the 2nd day of opening during peak season anyway..Gringotts isnt even running at FULL capacity yet..I think we need more time

I totally agree!

Why aren't they running Gringotts at full capacity? Is it due to technical issues?

Yes. Definitely technical reasons. Twitter is saying tonight that they are finally loading both sides and someone whose time was supposed to be 4 hours ended up being 2. That's sounding like progress!

That's great. It was like Mummy when slow, only one side with carts sitting there.

I agree with more time; but what if it becomes the norm. We got up early every day for Hogwarts fj and at 8:15 I was able to walk on the ride several times a couple months after it opened. When I went September, it was the same. I can't see getting up even earlier. I'm not fighting crowds 1st thing in morning. If it stays like this, do u think they will consider alternating parks between different hotels?

If so maybe they will give us something like FP+ and universalbands to help make everything easier
But seriously, I think given time it will slow down and get at least a little better.

I was there at 6:45am for the 7am early entry. I finally got into the park an hour later at 7:45am. BOO!

This was the line when we stopped walking at 6:57am. It was in Speingfield USA

Okay everyone booking knew there would be lines for the first few months (horrible lines the first few weeks) and the point of early entry is you have to get there early (even earlier with a new attraction). With the new hotel that adds to the mix for early entry but seriously did you really think you all were the only ones with this great idea:rotfl2: So did you think you were going to be the only ones there:rolleyes2. No one is paying prime rates to stay on site to sleep in! Yes, I am being silly but considering the horrible mess when WW opened I think this is a great improvement! I think they should open these major additions in off season so all the bugs are out when prime time hits! Just a thought. Have fun I am hoping to be in the mess in a couple of weeks.

what is the earliest time that hotel guests can get into the parks to join the queue?!!!
We are at Portofino and so plan to walk over rather than wait for the boat...how long does this take?

I have read people lining up as early as 5-530, boats don't start running till 615 .The walk from Portofino at a slow pace is about 15-20 mins.At a brisk pace I can do it in about 10

I just did a google search for "satellite view wizarding world 2010". If the parks aren't like THAT opening day, it's OK. http://c100instudio.blogspot.com/2010/06/wizarding-world-of-harry-potter.html had two especially good shots... **************.com as well.

I"m sure it will all calm down, just like it did by our trip Dec 2010 was calmer.

It was pretty much like that on opening day for Diagon, and really maybe a bit more, they just did a much better job at crowd control. Universal was MUCH better prepared, and let people into the park earlier, and the studios ahs a lot more room in general than Islands of Adventure. What that springfield shot doesn't show you is the the very long switchbacks behind men in black, Simpsons, and around fear factor that they took people through. It went over to Transformers at one point.

Thanks for providing this info! I am a teacher with a tragically early start time so getting up at 5 is the norm for me from Sept-June. I think I will make this my plan of action on Tuesday and let DH and DD(4) sleep in while I go weep my tears of joy all alone ;)

Exactly, let's not be so quick to forget how bad it was when the first HP area opened.

If you walk from PB, don't forget about the shortcut through the HR parking lot. It cuts the walk by about a third.

I learned about the PB connection on these forums -- though I had discovered the HR piece on my own by accident. Someone has posted a photo trail of the route.

Basically, you walk past the boat launch at PB, and up the hill, but instead of taking a left along the meandering path, you go right to cross the street -- the HR hotel is right there. Go all the way to the back of the self park lot (its on the right), pass the chain that ropes off what I assume is a staff parking lot, and walk all the way back to a hedge row. There is a path that cuts through the hedge row that isn't all that apparent until you get right up on it. You are now 100 yards away from the bag check at US entrance.
