It was hot yesterday here, but it doesn't bother me , what bothers me is that I have three odd shape windows on the very top of the front of the house ( we did not build the house , and the person who thought about these windows should be shot ) and , man it can get steming hot in the house with those windows uncovered.
The last time I had someone out to give me estimates on window treatments for my windows was over $300 , so what I do in the summer is I get construction paper and cut it to shape a,d cover the glass, that does the trick, then in the winter I take it off because it warms up the house.
They are covered now and it won't get so hot , besides that we have A/C in the livingroom but it feels colder with the windows covered.
So how hot is it in your neck of the woods?

Actual is mid to upper 90's. But, at 3:45am (yes, I was awake) it wsa like 82, but the heat index was 96!

I really would like us to have more rain. So, if any of you in the northeast would send some this way, I will really appreicate it :)

90 here today. The first time all year.

90 here today with high humidity. We had a doosey of a tstorm last night. Lookout east of MN.

As far as your windows are concerned , 3M makes different types of window film coverings that might work for you. Not too spendy and available at places like Home Depot.

herc.

93 actual here today and 96 predicted for tomorrow....have no IDEA what the heat index will be, and I don't think I want to know.

LOL! Can't win. One day I'm complaining it's too cold and the next day it's too hot! We have too few perfect weather days here in Ohio.

A medication I take makes me sensitive to the heat. This really isn't my favorite time of the year.

We just put some of that film on my kitchen window. Our kitchen is on the west side of the house, and it has an atrium window. When I cooked dinner the kitchen always was way too hot. Now the kitchen doesn't have the sun shining in that window. I get the light without the heat. Next on the agenda to get the film are 2 half-moon windows we have.

It's currently 55 here in Longmont, cloudy, drizzle, yuck. Will get a bit warmer later today, but colder tomorrow. I am tired of this crazy weather. I want sun and blue skies, is that too much to ask?

We might hit 70º.........we've already seen our 90º days......and probably won't again this year (not common here).

Under a heat advisory down here in the Houston area. Real temps in the mid-90's with heat indices between 105 and 115. Love that 92% humidity.

The puddles have finally dried up! Yippeee!!! (Of course they are calling for a thunderstorm maybe tomorrow or thursday - figures.) We can't seem to win one way or another. My boys are complaining that they haven't been to a waterpark ever. Sheesh! I tell them summer's just started. We have central air - thank goodness. But early in the morning I like to get up shut it off, and open a few windows to smell that wonderful summer air. Then DH yells for me to turn on the AC because he's roasting. Oh Well.

Just NW of Houston and wishing for some of that rain! Upper 90s and sticky, what's new?

When we first got married and living in a tiny rent house in Huntsville (TX) that only had two small window units, we resorted to the poor man's reflector: foil, shiny side out. Looks weird, but it works! Wouldn't be an interior decorator's choice, of course, but being young, poor, and suffocating in the house trumped all that!

I'm not sure of the exact temp, but I'd say it's about 90. It's sunny and beautiful. You won't hear me complaining - after all that rain and gloom, this is wonderful.:D

I'm liking the 90 degrees with high humidity.....the only thing lacking is being right next to Disney!!!!:jester: :bounce:

We aren't doing the heat index yet, but highs in the mid 90's with 92% humidity when I came to work.

Typical June day...rather pleasant, actually.

hey, mskanga, where IS the twilight zone in PA? I can sew and I'll bet I could cover those windows cheaper than $300.00!

Sad to say it isn't even 100 on my patio! But there is hope, high Saturday is expected to be 109!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
