My DD30 told me the other day that she wanted to try a Dole Whip Float on this trip (in 3 wks!). I confess, in all the times we took the family to WDW, we never stopped for one -- ever! So now, after 30 years, my DD has found the nerve to speak up on this important matter! LOL I told DD that there was a choice of vanilla+pineapple or all-pineapple. She turned her nose up at the all-pineapple. This news might be a deal killer. (Last visit, I got a LeFou's Brew for DD, and that was a bust. You would have thought it was a big cup of BEVERLY!)

I just found out that the vanilla soft serve is gone! . My absolute favorite was the vanilla soft serve and pineapple juice float. I find the pineapple/pineapple combo to be a little too pineapple-y... I heard it's still at the Poly so I might check that out, but I really like getting a sweet cool treat in MK. Does anyone have replacement suggestions?

Yes, sadly I had read about that a few weeks before our trip this past June. I always loved the vanilla soft serve in my float but I will admit I had never actually tried the pineapple/pineapple combination. I was hoping for a miracle when I got to MK, but it was not to be so I settled for the pineapple/pineapple float and was actually surprised at how much I liked it. I still prefer the vanilla, but I'm happy with the pineapple, too.

We had our first Dole Whips on our last trip in 2013. I got the pineapple, and my sister got the vanilla. Hers was much better than mine, because I didn't know it was artificial pineapple flavor in the soft serve . I would have gotten vanilla, too. I was looking forward to getting one with the vanilla on our next trip. Ah, well. Easy come, easy go.

A guest ordered a dole whip float, but did not specify the flavor of ice cream. She was given pineapple ice cream instead of vanilla and totally flipped out screaming "this isn't a dole whip. I know what a dole whip is I've been doing this a long time."

That's just completely confusing because I thought pineapple softserve WAS the way the float was served.

Then again I've only had one at DL, I ordered a DW float, and that's what was given to me. I'm not sure DL has the vanilla at all, so anyway, it's weird for me to think about the float NOT being with the pineapple softserve.

(though I rarely think about it, as I thought the whole thing was icky)

The original Dole Whip has always been just pineapple, no vanilla. The original comes from the Dole plantation on Oahu. Walt had it, loved, and they put it in Disneyland. I don't know where this "Dole Whip is vanilla" thing came from. I don't mind people calling any combo Dole Whip, as long as there is something pineapple in it; however, I don't think people should get angry if their interpretation is different than someone else's.

If you go to Hawaii and get a Dole Whip at the Dole Plantation its only pineapple no vanilla or any other flavors mixed into it. Plain pineapple dole whip is shear pineapple perfection and takes me back to Hawaii!! Can't wait to get one! Or two or three!!

In MK, it is near the Magic Carpets. It's in the building just to the right of Enchanted Tiki Room, if you are looking at the Tiki Room. This used to be the Sunshine Tree Terrace and served the orange soft serve. It is now called Aloha Isle and serves the pineapple soft-serve, aka Dole Whip.

The Dole Plantation only had pineapple when we went. They had the floats too or you could add fresh pineapple on top of the soft-serve. It was good. When I have it, it reminds of two of my favorite things: Hawaii and the Tiki Room

I was disappointed on our last trip (a few weeks ago) when we went to get a float and could only order pineapple/pineapple. But a silly CM who had the job of holding the menu at the edge of the ordering area was stating "we have pineapple, and if you want to try another flavor, we have pineapple..." That made me smile. I do miss the orange/vanilla twist in pineapple juice though. That was my favorite.

See, I worked at the MK years ago and I've NEVER had a Dole Whip. (Blasphemous, I know.)

Recently, I've been on a Pineapple kick, so I'm more than excited to try a Dole Whip/Float finally. Double Pineapple is probably what I'll get first, but it's nice to know Vanilla is still available at the Poly. Can't wait to get a good Tiki souvenir cup and enjoy my first Dole Whip ^_^

I've never had a dole whip/dole whip float because I was allergic to pineapple when I was younger.. I'll be in MK in 40 days and it might be the thing I'm most excited for (hehe) so I don't care if it is pineapple vanilla/pineapple pineapple

The fact that people can get this worked up over a treat means it's really special
