Do i get my bags at bagage claim or not? and how do i get on? i just booked my trip on saturday and i am leaving tomorrow. thank you.

If you are leaving tomorrow and just booked last week, you won't be getting your DME info packet. I am assuming that you booked your DME ride though. You have to have advance reservations in order to ride the bus.
You have a few options as to what to do with your bags. You can go directly to the DME checkin counter and give them a description of your checked bags, the number of bags and the claim receipts for them. They will send someone to get the bags and deliver them to the resort for you. Or, you can go to baggage claim yourself and get them. Then you can bring them with you to the DME checkin area and they will be put underneath the bus you are riding on.
So....when you get off the tram, from the gate area to the main terminal, you will want to look for the Side B sign, up above you. The airport is divided into Side A and Side B areas. Some airlines arrive and depart on each side. You will arrive on level 3. Head to Side B and go down to level 1..this is all ground transportation. This is where you will find the DME checkin area. Get in the line, they will check you in. You will be given a voucher in order to get on the bus. You will then be directed to the appropriate resort bus line.

If you choose to get your own bags, you will go down to level 2 before heading all the way down to level 1. Baggage claim is located on level 2. When you get your bags, you can then go down to level 1 and DME.

Thank you verry much.

i think i booked it, with my moms help i mad my reservations. we did it on the disney site and on the paper i printed out it says it is one here.

I would rather not get my bags since it will just be me. you sure that will work? and what is a claim receipt?

again thank you, i just want to understand before i go.

At your "home" airport, when you give a suitcase to your airline, that is called "checking" that suitcase. When you check a suitcase with your airline, they give you a receipt for it.

When you land in Orlando, skip baggage claim and find the Disney Welcome Center (we call it the Disney's Magical Express counter, but it's official name is the Disney Welcome Center). Tell them you want DME to claim your bag for you, but you didn't put a DME luggage tag on it. They will then ask for your baggage claim receipt, the thing you got at your home airport. They'll also ask you to describe your bag.

They will then get a DME cast member to go to baggage claim for you. This person will get your bag and then take it back "behind the scenes" at the airport, print out a DME luggage tag for it, and then put it in with all the rest of the DME luggage.

This method has been in place since the first day DME began about 4 years ago. It's official policy, not just something someone cooked up last week.

Psst! If you do fetch your own baggage from the carousels and it's the A side, then you have to go back up (the tram had let you off on level 3), go across the concourse to the B side, then down to level 2 and down some more to level 1 there.

Guests arriving after 10 PM all need to go get their bags from the carousels.

Hint: Once on level 1 on the B side, face away from the outside windows and then go to your left to find the welcoming area.

Thank you everyone, im still really nervous about this for some reason but ill give it A go.

Stop worrying!! It's really a great service. And it's very easy to do. You'll be surprised at how easy Disney makes it!!! Be sure to come back here and let us all know how you made out. Have a great trip.
