No, I don't think. Obviously. It may be meaningless for you, which is why you handle the situation the way you see fit. You (general you) draw the line where you think it's appropriate to draw the line and let everyone do the same. It's not up to everyone else to dictate how someone else should feel. I knew nothing about this particular "new team" project until this thread started, but I know plenty of people (myself included) who feel that the league allowing Vick to play is an entirely different thing from a particular team signing him. I also know plenty of people who don't feel that way. And I know some who don't care either way. None of us are wrong and all of us should proceed the way we think is best.
I wondered why the league would allow him to play again, and frankly I also wondered why they allow any convicted felons to play. I suppose as part of his punishment they could have banned him for longer, and maybe they should have. However, apparently for the league as a whole to agree not to hire people like Vick, the Union also needs to agree with that. It's more complicated than the League just getting together and saying that they won't hire people like that anymore - in fact I was told that it would be considered "collusion" for all the teams to get together and make a decision like that. I don't know if that's true, but if it is I can certainly understand why they wouldn't do that right now. I personally think that they should work out something like that when next they are negotiating with the Union, but I'm not going to fault them for not doing it immediately in response to the Vick situation.
On the other hand, each individual team can decide not to hire people like that and there's nothing wrong with them doing so. If fans don't want people like Vick hired, then the best thing for them to do is to vote with their dollars. Don't support the teams who hire people like Vick if you think they shouldn't be hiring them. Don't go to the games, don't buy the merchandise, don't give them your money. If enough people were to do that, it would become apparent to teams like the Eagles that they would be better off not hiring people like Vick. It doesn't make sense to punish the entire league as a whole for the actions of an individual team - instead, it makes sense to reward the teams that have the good sense not to hire Vick. That's how I see it and so that's how I intend to respond to the situation. Those who feel differently are free to respond to the situation as they see fit.
