So if not WL, then where should I stay?

For my 40th birthday, my wife took me to Beach Club. It holds a special place in my heart, especially with the massages, dinners and lunches.

Beach Club feels 100% beach club. t's the best place on property. I never thought that anything would replace Grand, but this did. Nothing necessarily has a "Disney" feel, but we would pick this over any other. That goes for service, etc.

Don't stay away!!

This is an option Im definitely looking at as well! Hard to visualize the setup of the Lodge never having been there, but I learned on here that CCV seem to be part of the main lodge! Don’t laugh at me, but for whatever reason, the pictures of the decor at CCV don’t do it for me compared to what I wanted at the WL. I liked the WL rooms better, both the older ones, and the renovated look that we might have gotten as well! Definitely a silly thing I guess lol, as Im sure it will feel the same with the resort being so beautiful!! The CCV rooms are nice in person? Do they feel “Disney”?
The CCV rooms IMO are some of the best on property. Much better in person vs. pictures. Gorgeous views of either the creek or pool, beautiful touches, definitely Disney but also clean and modern. They’re in the main lodge which is important to us. When you walk in the main door of the lobby there are normal WL lodge rooms to your left, and CCV is to the right.

1. CCV gives you everything WL as well as the boat to MK. Love WL!
2. BC but unfortunately pool not open at Stormalong Bay. Big minus but access to Skyliner and Epcot are great.
3. AK would be last the savanna rooms don’t do allot for us. Far from everything so that is a minus.

Another opinion Id like to ask. So should I be proactive in trying to change rooms, or let Disney come to me? At some point it’ll have to be addressed because Im booked at WL. On my first phone call, they technically offered me a nice upgrade bc that Savanna view room is a good amount of money more than my Nature View room was. Do you think Im more or less likely to get some kind of cool upgrade if I wait? My trip is now in April 2021.

No in fact the longer you wait the less availability they'll have, and then your options may not be what you want. If you want to change to AKL now I am sure you could always switch back to WL if/when it opens.

So what options are there on Kidani side? Artist Point being closed makes me sad, thats a character dining experience I was very much looking forward to.
I hope that character dining comes back. It was one of my favorites last trip. The evil queen was amazing.

This does seem like one they could pretty easily reopen with distanced characters, but I have to imagine they won't until WL itself reopens.

Does Beach Club feel “Disney” to you? Like have Disney touches in the rooms and stuff? What do you love about it? I live in a Shore town lol, so for me beach themes are like normal life 😂😂

Hey there, I realized that I did not come even close to answering your question.

I wouldn't say that it necessarily has Disney "touches." However, the pool is fantastic. And not to sound arrogant, but we have made it a mission to stay club level at every deluxe resort (I'm not rich, believe me!!). But this experience was the best... topped Grand Floridian. We were met by a manager as we got out of our car and addressed by name, taken to a special check in and escorted directly to our room.

So, Disney "touches" is a loaded term. Yes, you might find some hidden Mickeys, but the Disney touch here was the service. I felt like a VIP.

On another note, the best in terms of Disney atmosphere was the one time I went to Disneyland. The DL resort is all about disney. There's a headboard behind the bed (obviously) that has LED's of the castle and fireworks that light up and play "When you Wish Upon a star." The two nights that we stayed there, we kept the lights on while we slept (they weren't excessively bright).
