..and it did not work (i took a gamble that it just might)

so I set my alarm to 5:50 & did it online. I was finally able to get le cellier for dinner at 6:00! (I agree that now that it's a 2 pointer, it will be more reasonable to get in)

But because I thought you could not book the Fantasmic dinner show package online, when I called Disney Dining for it at 740am I was completely shut out for dinner at Mama Merlrose all three nights it is showing during our stay in August. (DH does not want to be tied down for lunch, so fantasmic is out for us. Hollywood & vine is alao unavilable & I don't want brown derby. So this will be on my to do list for our next trip (Since I can't see us waiting 90 minutes on line with 2 little ones to get into the show)

I really liked making the reservations online., I get an e-mail conformation with all the info on it. I did find that garden grill was harder to get into than I thought.

I also wanted to thank everyone for the great advice I got on this board for making ADR's!
;)

Anyone else find it insane that at 7:40am, 180+ days out that you can already be shut out of anything?

Not really because for things which have limited seatings (like a F! package), all the people arriving before you could have booked it already. And the fact that it was 7:40 vs. 7:00 actually makes a difference too. 40 minutes is a LONG time in terms of how many reservations ALL the Disney operators can make.

(bolding mine) Not to mention those that were booking it online at 6 am.

What are your dates in August?

We are going 8/26 - 9/2 and I was hoping to book Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic dinner package on 8/28. I can't make ADRs until Sunday:sad2:1

Sorry about Fantasmic!

So you have to wait until 6 am to book? Is that EST? And just to be clear, you can book Fantasmic pkg online? Thanks for letting me ask questions on you thread!:flower3:

Hi all,

I tried again and was able to get a 1:35 lunch for Fantismic dinner/show for our trip! (for Mamma Melrose) I was actually able to choose between a 135 or 315 for lunch, I went with the earlier. Since we are staying at Beach Club Villas we will shoot back to the hotel on the boat & go the the pool or Epcott & then head back again to be at the theatre at 8:00. I'm so excited!

I also book Akershus for breakfast & plan to dress her in her cinderella costume (if it's not too hot) I got her in the grand floridian last visit. (& quickly change her back into shorts after the meal, this will be in august!) DH & my son are less than thrilled to be having a princess breakfast, but tough on them Plus i'm the one who got up at 6am to make all the ADR's, so I hold all the power (ha ha)

PS - Just an observation, I found that Teppan Edo was also extremely hard to get a 6:00 dinner reservation, Garden Grill was a litte easier to get into, but still tougher than I thought it would be

We staed at the Poly last year & did most of our meals near the MK, so it's exciting to be trying new places!

~ Marina

PS - Aggiegirl yes, you can book the fantasmic package online, I did not know that either till I saw I could do it online

Oceanmarina, you are going to love the BC!
We usually stay at the YC, this will be our first time "on the other side of the lake"!

Thanks for the insight about Fantasmic dining! I wonder if they hold back a few reservations for people who have to wait to book?

I got everything I wanted!:cheer2:

I even got the F! package for lunch at Mama Melrose!:yay:

Not entirely, especially when it comes to F! packages. Just because it's your 180 day point, doesn't mean it's everyone's. With the limited number of Fantasmic showings per week now, all those who are checking in up to a few days before you will also be vying for that same showing. Most restaurants will still have some openings during that period, simply because all those booking won't be funneled into one or two shows.

Yay! Glad to hear it :)

Let me just say I understand 100% how it happens. I just find it crazy from a conceptual standpoint. Maybe I should have been clearer about that.

That said, I'm very pleasantly surprised to have gotten the F! package this morning for Mama Melrose's at 4:55pm on 9/1. The original plan was to try to get it on 8/28 (the only other showing during my 8 days there). But it became clear with 7 or 8 check-in days already having a crack at it, I had no shot.

I think some of us (myself included :p) have just been inundated with Disney planning stuff for awhile, so our viewpoints are a bit skewed from the normal/"real world" :). So, taking it out of context and out of super-obsessive Disney planning terms, yep, it is pretty nuts.

I swear there needs to be a 12 Step program for those who "lurk" here on the boards :lmao:. Do you find yourselves checking here more than a few days a week? You might need a program. Just can't help ourselves now can we?

These are the same exact dates that we are going! Booked my first ADR's this morning but got online a little later than I had planned since I was at work (Shouldn't had been online anyway :rolleyes1). Got Cali Grill for 9:20 when I wanted 8:45ish. Oh well, we can just arrive early and watch wishes from the viewing deck.

I, too, got up nice and early on a day off from work. Logged in right at 6:00am. However, I was unable to get ANY opening at Mama Melrose's for 9/1... it just showed all grayed out for any day past 8/28 (for any restaurant/any time when trying the Fantasmic! Dinner package). I even went back later on to check, and everything still grayed out. I had thought that maybe for some reason they hadn't opened all the dates yet. But, from reading from a couple posts, that appears to not be the case.

However, the Fantasmic! dinner package was not my first reservations for the day... I first set up Le Cellier and also CRT. Amazing how just a few minutes can make that much difference. Also, could not get any Hoop Dee Doo Review for 5:00pm, so did some last minute ADR juggling. In the end, though, very satisfied with all of our reservations. Bottom line... my daughter will still be thrilled with everything we got (and that is all that really counts!). I guess from time to time, I'll check for the impossible... a cancellation for the 9/1 Fantasmic! Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's (can even do lunch or dinner).

One notable thing... I thought the latest Fantasmic! Dinner Package you could reserve is 4:30pm (not 4:55pm as someone else stated). Just make sure you didn't only make a dinner reservation at Mama Melrose's as opposed to the Dinner Special Event!

Still openings for F! Dinner Package. Here is the trick... after selecting the "Special Dinner Event", don't click on the calendar to choose your day. Instead, type it in the box and don't make it look like the Disney format (9/1/2011), but instead make sure to use a 2-digit month and day (09/01/2011) and it will pull up what you want. As of 10:00pm tonight, they still have many opening for both lunch and dinner as part of the package at multiple restaurants!
