So...I May Have Made a Ticket-Buying Mistake...Help?

I made the mistake of ticket shopping in the midst of a migraine headache, and now I'm freaking out. I found a 14 day 2 park pass for $149.99 plus shipping, and that seemed to be just what we needed, as the UT price for the 3 park pass was $189, and we have no intention of going to Wet N Wild, particularly since I will have an annual pass and no Wet N Wild ticket!

Anyway, I ordered the tickets, which came to about $156 with shipping, and I was thrilled with my discovery of this great deal. Last night, I went back to the site and discovered that there was small print on that page that said this was for UK visitors and "these tickets cannot be shipped to the US or Canada." Upon realizing this, I assumed the site would cancel my order after seeing my shipping address in the US.

This morning, I received a notification that my order has shipped.

So...I'm not sure if I should jump for joy, or if I should be worried. Will these be like Florida resident tickets, where you have to have a FL identification to use them? Since I'm not a UK resident, did I just purchase a ticket I can't use?

The site was Orlando Attractions.

I'm not sure if they ask for ID but I would guess that they will, just as they do for FL resident tickets. However, I would be willing to bet that something can be worked out with Orlando Attractions to return the tickets and get credit towards ones you can actually use.

Thanks. I'll see what the tickets actually say when they arrive, and then I'll make up my mind what to do. Their other tickets are higher than UT, so if this one is not usable, I will be demanding a refund, particularly since the actual page google sent me to said NOTHING about them being UK only, it was actually on another page. If they aren't usable by US residents, they shouldn't have mailed them to me. So frustrating.

I would call them and inquire. You must have gone on the UK visitors section since these tickets aren't available through their North American section. They do have a US phone number that you can call. 352-241-8539

I googled "14 day Universal Pass" (based on having seen the 3 day unlimited pass on UT) and google sent me straight to the ordering page for the 14 day tickets. The top of the site had customer service numbers for US and UK, so I figured it was all good. Later I realized the main page had two different links, one for UK tickets and one for US, and I'd ended up in the UK ticket department via google. I'll call them and see what they say. Hopefully there's no fine print about residency - of course, this ticket is for my 12 year old daughter who doesn't have any kind of photo id, so I have no way of proving her residency one way or the other, now that I think about it...

Since the ticket is for a minor- they use the parent or guardians Id for proof of residence. At least that's what they do for florida residents. Universal has always asked everyone in our party for Id to prove residency when it comes to fl discounts and I'd imagine they do the same for the uk deals since they are pretty substantial discounts so be prepared. Hopefully you will be able to get a refund.

Just took a quick look at the site and you can return the the ticket for a refund. They just charge a 10% restocking fee.

Well, once I get it and determine whether or not it can be used, I'll contact them if I need to return it. From the information I gleaned elsewhere, though, it's likely I'll be able to use it with no trouble. The company simply shouldn't have sent it to me in the first place.

They might think that you're from the UK and visiting other areas. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

The wording was "unable to SHIP to the US or Canada" - so they messed up. I think it was to my benefit, though.

Or it may not actually have shipped and that may be the automatic response sent when an order is placed.

I agree. I would call them and find out the "real" facts to set your mind at ease.

There's a tracking number showing it was mailed - which is why I'm just waiting until it shows up so I can read the fine print, if any, on the ticket. Something else to make me antsy as I await this trip!

In the meantime, my husband and I are taking a 3 day anniversary "staycation" in the French Quarter in 8 days - so I have that to look forward to - can't wait!

We are from the UK and use those passes, we have never been asked for ID. May be we look British??? Do you have time to start practicing the British accent? LOL

Just got the ticket - NOTHING on there regarding any sort of residency restriction. I think I just slipped through the cracks in their ordering system. Yay me, hopefully?
