So I got a nail stuck in my foot last night...

Yeah it sucks. I don't to get in specifics of how I ended up stepping on a nail but lets just say it was dark and the nail was sticking out through a wood board. I ended up having to go to the emergency room at 1:00 this morning and get the wound cleaned out. Wasn't sure when I had my last tetnus shot but I figured it was around 15 or 16. (I'm now 23) But when I called my regular Dr. a little while ago, it seems the last time I had the shot was in 1991! So now I've got to go get that shot on top of hardly being able to walk on one foot. Gonna be a great Derby Weekend!

I don't know why that tetnus shot has to hurt so much, but it does!

Thats what got the nail in my foot in the first place.

I'm actually more mad about ruining my fav flip flops. They were the best, now one has a nice hole in it.

Oh I did that one night about 20 years ago - I still remember how much it hurt! Pulling it out was the worst part. Mine was something like a great big huge staple (used in floral work) I'd made some big bows and had these in them to attach to a big wreath. So after I pulled it out - it looked like a snake bite with two holes.

The tetanus shot is not a big deal.

Ouch! I recommend soaking it in warm Epson salt water each day. Ask your doctor about this......it really will help.

My poor husband got a nail from a nail gun shot through his finger a few months back. Went right through the nail
You should have seen the guy in the emergency room, he was bringing my husband around showing everyone his nail sticking out of his finger all the while my husband was ready to pass out from it

Another person who can speak from experience and say OUCH!!!! I did the same thing a few years ago. It taught me never to do any house decoration with just my slipper socks on!! I hope you feel better soon.

They should have given you the tetanus shot right then and
there unless you were sure about the date of your most
recent. DH got tetanus, it's very deadly. Get the shot NOW!

I stepped on a nail when I was a kid. Wearing gym shoes. Pushes the rubber plug from the sole up INTO my foot. That was the hard part, them pulling that rubber piece out. I recall getting tetnus shot then too.

YeeOwwww! Had the same thing happen to me when I was around 10 years old only it was a spike. Boy did I scream! Off to the hospital for the shot and some irrigation.

Ouch! Hope it heals quickly for you! I stepped on a nail when I was very pregnant with my daughter. Never saw it (hey, I couldn't see my feet!). Dh yelled at me for not having shoes on, but I told him I did and in fact my shoe is still stuck to it outside! LOL! But, I had just gotten a tetanus shot the week before after I dropped a glass jar and stepped on the glass (barefoot that time) and the ER had to dig out glass! I was a mess, it's so funny now though and I have a scar to prove it!
