....now help me convince my kids they'll like it more than Kona Cafe. We've had numerous dinners at Kona and it's one of their favorites, but I've just been dying to try Ohana and after months of looking, I was just able to find one for our trip next month a few minutes ago online and it's even for a great time - 6:35PM. Kids are 9 & 11 - they're not real adventurous eaters but will both eat things like beef & broccoli at Chinese restaurants; I know they'll eat the meat & broccoli, and might try the wings, pot stickers & noodles, but I think they're going to be furious at me for making them trade out Kona cones for bread pudding. Think we should go for it, or just stick with Kona?

I wasn't sure about the dessert either when I booked. It's delicious.

I'm kind of picky and wasn't sure about the noodles either. I liked them too. Didn't try the pot stickers and I only eat chicken breast so I didn't try the wings either. If they can't find stuff to eat, I hear they will bring out a kid's meal. I saw some children with hotdogs and fries.

Ohanas dessert was excellent. I too was worried DD12 wouldn't like it. She generally dislikes pinapple and bread pudding at first didn't appeal. However, she really loved it and ate a ton! You get plenty of ice cream with it too!

She is a very picky eater but loves the sweet bbq chicken wings and the steak as well as broccolli, salad and bread. She doesn't like pork or shrimp but there was plenty she did enjoy.

That said she did prefer Kona but we ate at both and she wants to eat at both next trip too.

'Ohana is our favorite and we LOVE the desset. My stepson (21) does not like breadpudding so he asked for just the ice cream. He got three huge scoops of ice cream and loved it. I think they also have sandpails for kids with ice cream in it and maybe sprinkles on top (not sure).

I showed them some food pics from Ohana and they agreed to give up Kona. Problem solved. Thanks for your input!

We just did both Kona and O'hana 2 weeks ago on our trip. O'hana is far better! It is a family style meal, so they bring the dishes out on big platters and you pass them around to one another like at home. The meats come to the table on giant skewers. There is chicken, pork, steak, and shrimp. The sides were stir-fried vegetables, fried dumplings, lo mein noodles and a salad. I think there was bread too! My kids are 4 and 7 and loved it! They also have entertainment that the kids get involved in, so they get a chance to get up out of their seats and move around a bit. The dessert is absolutely delicious!

We found the service at Kona to be slow.

Definitely keep Ohana. Trying something different is always good. I'm not a lover of desserts either but the bread pudding was amazing. If I wasn't so stuffed I would have asked for more. Everything about the meal was so good. It's definitely on the list for our next trip.

We think the food at Kona is far better than the food at Ohanas. I love noodles but felt Ohanas were not even edible. The meat was dry and way over done. The bread pudding was passable but the ice cream and carmel sauce was good. We will not go back to Ohanas.
