I need to hear some good stories, did anyone plan a Disney vacation? Have family coming to visit for the holidays?

I'd like to hear the bad too... my week was supposed to be a great one but turned out just the opposite; Hoping for a better one coming up.

Mine was the same..Mom's birthday, SIL's Birthday, so empty wallet now..;) Also my back went out tonight, and I am on some fun pills..

I had a pretty interesting week...

Since Monday, DF and I have found an apartment we like, applied to live there, were approved, and just signed the lease today! We're finally moving in together, and it's happening so fast! I'm so excited.

Sorry to hear your week was a bummer. Here's to next week being spectacular!!!

Compared to some weeks I've had this one was pretty good. My health which can be iffy hasn't been too bad this week. I say a week with little pain is a good week, no matter what else happens.

Decided to take DS and his friend to Universal for DS's birthday. Got a good discount on tickets and room (still isn't really in the budget, but you only turn 13 once).

On my way to somewhere else I saw a sidewalk sale at a VERY expensive interior designer's place. There was a pedestal fishbowl on one of the tables so I had to stop for that (been wanting one since I saw it in Martha Stewart Living, that woman is evil;) ). There was also a two foot tall footed apothecary jar which has also been on my wish list. Fishbowl originaly $35, I paid $8. Apothecary jar originally $125. I paid $32.:cool1: I haven't been buying "just because I love it stuff" lately, so this was a big deal for me. Not only got some things I've really been wanting but got a spectacular deal!

I'm sorry your week wasn't good twinklebug. BTW, I love your user name, it makes me smile whenever I see it.:goodvibes

We only had school Monday and Tuesday this week and now we're on Easter Break. Today I made reservations for Pop Century for December. I am going to be taking my aunt, younger sister, and cousin to go visit my older sister who works in Disney. We'll be there for Christmas. :) Pretty good week for me!

I love how you put that, the FUN pills. Hope your back's put back together soon! Back pain's the worst.

How cool! Congrats :)

My mom & dad are working universal this week - got "stuck" in the superheros section. :rotfl: They were hoping for Seussville.

I love cool clearance finds! Just wondering, what does a 2 foot tall apothecary jar actually look like?

TY for the compliment! It makes me laugh some days too because I misread it as TinkleBug. :rolleyes1

Wow~!~

It looks like this. http://www.englishcreekgardens.com/prodetailsa.asp?prodid=2880 Cheaper than the original price at the designers studio, but not as cheap as my sale price! (especially when you add in s&h.)

I'm in real trouble now that I've found this site. They have the heart shaped jar I've been wanting but was sold out at the only place I knew that carried it. And copper urns, and edwardian cases. Thank goodness I have most of the cloche shapes and sizes they stock!

I must not order the hanging monkey topiary frame. Most not order the monkey......uhn. Yes I know I need help.:lmao:

Well, this last week has been rough.

Last Friday 40 of my friends at work retired. We have all worked together for 30 years. We came out of high school or college and stayed because it is such a great place to work. We're friends not just coworkers. One of the guys that retired Friday had been fighting esophageal cancer since October. He passed away on Monday. He was only 50. Another friend that retired Friday had her father pass away on Tuesday. It's been a long sad week.

My uncle entered into hospice Monday. He's not expected to last the week. Most of the family has gathered and we're trying to keep things as normal as possible for the children.

I am thankful for all my blessings, but tonight I feel very beat up.

This week has gone FAST! We are less than 4 weeks away from vacation, DS has started meds for ADHD so we are watching the changes in him, and we have to get ready for Easter. Next week we have to go to Mayo clinic for DH for a few days, so we have that to "look forward to"

I hope your holiday weekend makes up for a rough week, Twinklebug!!!

OK, I was feeling beat up too, but I think you had it worse.
My best wishes for your family & may your uncle's week be peaceful and pain free.

On another note... what type of place do you work at where everyone wants to stay for years!? I want a company like that! It's a true heartache that your friend retired and then passed away a few days later, makes you scratch your head and say "OK, why now?"

I can't complain after a week on the beach and fun in the sun. Headed back to the real world tomorrow and a visit from the inlaws to look forward to next weekend.

Thanks for your kind thoughts.

I work for an independent (not a Verzion/Bell) telephone company. The company is generous with benefits and salaries. I get 9 paid holidays, 28 days vacation, 39 weeks of sick pay at my full rate, a defined pension plan and I don't have to pay anything towards my family plan health insurance.

My daughter is in the 7th grade and has many milestones this year. Her class put on a Passion Play yesterday and that is a biggie in the milestone category. They did a great job. Next up is the luau and then she graduates.

I've been finalizing our WDW vacation and have been helping my SIL plan theirs.
