How does the Disney Channel make money? As far as I can tell, it doesn't sell traditional advertising like other networks do. All it does is promote its own programming (i.e., new TV movies, new feature films, other shows, etc.). I don't even think it advertises WDW or DCL.
Can it really generate enough revenue to break even just by promoting its own programming? Does Disney justify the Disney Channel expenses by measuring the sales of spin-off merchandise (Lizzie McGuire stuff, Kim Possible stuff, etc)? Is that enough income?
I don't get it. Any ideas?
