I found it on a search on the internet .
I am amazed at the hourly increase in new members and wondered was it by word of mouth or what?

When I was searching for info on the internet about DVC while waiting for my member kit to come in the mail. By the time it arrived I already knew that I wanted to buy.

I found it as I was searching for info on Disney Cruise Line. After the cruise I wandered over to the DVC board and have been sticking around ever since.

I'm kinda embarrassed/ashamed to admit it...but I haven't mentioned my DIS membership to anyone. I just can't tell who will understand the Disney life and who won't. And I have no desire to deal with those who won't.:p

:Pinkbounc :bounce:

There was a link for it (and others) at a website I had found. Unfortunately, it was AFTER we purchased. The information I have found here would have been very helpful before we purchased. Our guide misled us on a couple of points.

I was an obsessive Disney vacation planner before finding the DIS.....and I was planning our first trip in 5 years, also our first with our ds, in early 1999. I decided to search the web to see if there was any place where I could get additional information and tips for planning our trip....and came across several sites, but the DIS was where I seemed to find the nicest people and best information. Its amazing how this site has grown!

I learned about this board from the AOL Theme Park boards.... I loved the format soooooo much better, and the shear volume of posters meant that just about any question about anything Disney, could be answered quickly.

We bought DVC on the spot while on a WDW trip. I asked our guide for web sites and he mentioned this as well as the official DVC site. Since I really knew nothing about DVC, this site has been a godsend.

i stumbled on the dis while researching our first vacation together in 2001.

and thank god i did! these boards saved me over $1500 on that trip! (i had booked a package with wdw travel! i quickly cancelled and rebooked with codes)

i don't post often but i'm hooked on the dis.

edited to add: i'm so hooked i just realized i posted under my dh's login :hyper:  i'm actually 'crazywig'

I have been an avid Disney related newsgroup/ Disney site reader since I got my first computer and the internet. I used to spend many hours on RADP. I did not find the DIS site until 1999 and that was through a link from Deb Willis' site (WDWIG). I switched to the DIS because of the format and the much greater volume of boards, posts per day etc. But I must admit I do miss RADP, I just wish they could change to this format, which of course is impossible since it is a newsgroup. Some very Disney savvy people on RADP with great info but getting around the site is pre historic compared to the DIS.

I was given the gift of the Dis from a friend who couldn't believe I had never seen this site. I too am an obsessive Disney planner and I love this site.:hyper:
