I just booked my OCT-Nov trip. I asked about the three FP a day. She said they took an average of the fast passes taken by a families. She did tell me the 3 FP is supposed to make the Stand By lines shorter> How is that possible? I just have a feeling we will be in lines more and I thought Disney wanted us in the stores shopping?????? Anyone feel the same?:hyper::hyper:

I personally have not seen any shorter standby lines......I've seen longer ones - I've never ever seen a 30 minute wait for Small World but I did this trip (we generally travel in very low crowd times).

Here's a "guess": If 1000 people are wanting to ride IASW at the same time and you are the last one in line, there are 999 people ahead of you. If 400 people have FP+ at the same time, there are 599 people in front of you...hence a shorter line.

Another scenario: If 20,000 people want to ride IASW on any given day, and
5,000 have FP+, a total of 15,000 people will lineup in standby at various times during the day. Depending on when (and they) get in line, your wait time in the standby line could be shorter.

I suck at math (obviously), but the correct answer should be somewhere along these lines.;)

Thanks, But I hope they are shorter. That is a lot of money to spend standing on line. But I have about 6 months to cancel and go to Universal for a change.

People get irritated when their 3 FPs are gone and leave the parks?

After 5 consecutive trips to Disneyworld, the visits will be over. I will not spend that kind of money to be limited to three fast passes even with a park hopper. Universal - here we come!

1st off :cheer2: WELCOME :cheer2: to the disboards, but I can't help but wonder how this one lil thing could stop a family from coming to WDW....Is it possible that in your last 5 years that something else happened? Now not to downplay U/S's but, There's no way anything is done like Disney does it.. IMHO :confused3

Ride access is a very BIG thing to a lot of people. We're not talking about the logos on the napkins. We're talking about the core reason many of us visit the parks and pay admission.

FP+ is supposed to redistribute, not shorten. If there are 30,000 people in a park trying to ride 70 attractions, those people have to be somewhere. FP+ cannot make people disappear and it cannot make the net effect of lines shorter. 30,000 people in lines is 30,000 people in line. But if distribution is reallocated, perhaps you will wait in a bunch of 30 minute lines instead of some 50 minute lines coupled with some 5 minute lines. For people who did not use FP-, they should see a difference. For people who pulled 6 FP- per day, they didn't wait in any 50 minute lines, so the shift will be a net negative. Remember. The Cast Members are explaining the change by linking it to the number of FPs pulled by the "average family". But perhaps there was no such thing. If half of all families pulled 6 per day and half pulled none, then the average family pulled 3 but no one pulled 3. Some people will perceive shorter lines. Some will not.
