and I realize how thankful I am for freebies :) I did a testdrive a while back for $100 Dean and Deluca Gift Certificate with as much as I love Coffee I cant see spending $36/lb on a pound  but I did because it was free :) Im so spoiled with freebies!

Is it better than $6/lb? Most definately in case youre interested :) lol

Aside from being the most deligtful coffee on the face of the earth, Kona is one of the few that can command a $36 per pound price. :teeth:

But, I have to admit, it is worth every single penny.

Kona is excellent. So is Jamaican Blue Mountain and Indonesian Kopi Luwak ($75 per 1/2 lb)

sip slowly
no kidding :)

lol

I bought Kona beans when I was in Hawaii and theyre growing really well here. Do think Kona beans grown in Idaho will still be good? lol

I have clients going to Hawaii next week and they promised to bring me home some more. YUMMY

I was just going to mention Jamaican Blue Mountain -- that's probably the most expensive (and best) coffee I've tasted. :)

Here at work, we have a guy who goes to Jamaica every year for his mission and we make him bring back coffee. And my mother who lives in Indonesia brings us the Indonesian one every year.

We have a bunch of coffee drinkers at work and they're always going for the good stuff (flavored coffee, etc)

$36/LB  what is next $100 bottles of wine :p

mmmmmmmmmmm $100 wine :) YUM
;)

I havent any good stuff like that since I was a nanny and the woman had a baby! We were overrun with gifts like that and Godiva chocolates and since ( darn) she had to get her figure back I got to eat it all :)
*sigh* sometimes I miss those days lol

::yes::

where can you find Jamacian Blue? MIL brought us some when she went to the virgin islands a couple years ago.

Well, since I often get my coffee out and spend $3.00+ for a 20 oz Latte' type drink -- I'd really hate to figure out what that comes to per pound.

As a side note --- Its nice to 'see' you again Binny!

During our last visit to Oahu the Costco near the airport has their own coffee bean roaster and was selling 100% Kona coffee freshly roasted for $12/lb. It was still warm in the package. We only bought one but had I known how good it would be I would have bought a dozen!

OMG thats a steal!!!

Heya Jody :)
I know Ive AWOL for a while I got the braces on and theyre killing me. Nice to see you too. You know where to find me :) On a side not Ive lost 5 pounds since last Thursday

My DH keeps telling me to order a pound of Kona because I deserve teh best! He is not a coffee drinker. I am tempted to take him up on the offer. So what grinding and brewing instructions do you have for me?

You can get Kona coffee for much less than $36/lb. I've mail ordered directly from a coffee plantation on the big island of Hawaii that we visited. Even with shipping it's cheaper than that.

Greenwell Farms

$12/lb. never seen that price before and I live here in Kona.

You can come to my house and step out of the back door to pick some fresh Kona Coffee. Season will be being in a month or so.
