Why does planning have to be so difficult? :rotfl2: It's not as if I haven't been there before- but heck.... I think we all just want our trips to be the best they can! Some of us can only go once a year, once every few years and some of us a few times a year, etc. So why do I stress over every vacation planning? Mostly just the hotel choice and dinner selections. Done pretty much all the attractions and shows etc.... so that part does not stress me out anymore. I learned the best routine- go at opening leave at noon go back after dinner- works like a charm!
So maybe your curious at my hotel and eatery decisions .... I love a great room and great food esc on vacation! However, my DH wants it as cheap as possible all the time- but kinda feels and express his dislikes if the food isn't different- meaning a different atmosphere then before- except for WWS- Got to love them Nachos! And I think he is really a Hotel snob- but he won't admit it! :lmao: He wants cheap- like $50 a night cheap.... :scared1: But when we have done rooms at even $90 a night- he was not too thrilled. Never done a cheap room before- too me- cheap room would be a Days Inn, Ramada, Super 8.... etc. He wants across the street deluxe at cheap price. Yeah right! not happening! We have stayed at Hojo's - after last trip and a few problems I don't know unless I got a great rate. So far of a walk once you realized you had the wrong disney AP's and have to walk all the way back LOL- We have stayed at Tropicana-which was actually nice! Nice beds- nice clean room- balcony- no elevator- I have stayed once at Park Place Vue- might give it a second time in the future- but at the time I went i was not too happy- being a singly parent traveler with a "huge stroller" and no elevators- the room layout was creepy to me- and we checked out with this odor on our selfs like a musky yuk smell.... didn't notice it till we was home and unpacking OMG!.
When I went with the whole family inc in-laws we stayed at Residence Inn in Garden Grove with 2 sep rooms- wasi deal for us.... loved it.
stayed at PPH and also loved it! But was kind of disappointing to walk thru the Grand and out the walkway to our place... Stayed at the Grand once- and in my opinion if I was really wealthy that's the only place I would ever go- theme park view of course... :rolleyes1 however I am not right yet, so that was a nice splurge when it did happen.
Sooo the Grand being our favorite- I have to come up with this ideal trip- thats in budget- that comes close enough to being like being at the Grand. Now I can only think of a few places offsite that could do this for us- Sheraton at the Park with a Disney Balcony View- However with the new Carsland set up- not sure what the view would be like anymore- also pretty ricey and you need to take the ART- drive or Cab, and my DH Wants to just walk across the street and be there ... :rolleyes1 again another nice place would be one of the Marriots- and the Hilton and the Hyatt regency Orange... again- some rooms actually cost more then to stay on-site at the PPH- all require transportation- however a few of these you can walk to the Toy story transportation.... Ugh its so frustrating! Basically- a nice clean newly renovated room, clean carpet, no bed bugs, pillow top mattress- no smells.... then you have to weigh in the costs- well of course some places-even though are better quality will charge extra parking, and resort fees...and don't forget the extra shuttle fee to the park or parking for the park if you drive- add it all up and your right back to on-site prices almost. For instance- don;t quote me- but say you pick the Sheraton Park- room is about $150-$200 plus a night- for a disney king theme view.... add in the resort fee- prolly $6, add in a parking fee $12- add in $15 to park at the Toy story lot- That adds more then the Paradise Hotel! I once was on Expedia and saw Del sol Inn for like over $400 a night and almost peed my pants! Seriously? LOL.... this is all about the luck of the gamble right?
I have considered myself at many places- Alpine Inn, Candy Cane, Ayres, Townplace, Ramada's Best westerns, Carousel, Camelot....so as for right now I am sticking with Fairfield on Harbor. It's almost the same walk as Hojo's ... which I do still like despite the issues- but when I know I can get that room for $59- and end up paying $129- I just can't rest comfortably. My fault for snoozing on the deal- not theirs. So the Fairfield has new Disney themed rooms- so atleast I will feel like I am onsite- without the price- and we can walk- and the rooms seem clean... plus we all like pizza and they have a Pizza Hut! McD's right out front too! and a Millies- which I read the menu and the serve a Monte Cristo sand? WOW Wonder how that would taste compared to the rest in DL.... plus it was like only $8!!! It's all just so overwhelming! Thanks for hearing my vent... LOL
:lmao:

forgot to mention- we have also stayed at Hotel Menage- which was pretty cool- awesome service- pool and spa open 24 hrs! That was the biggest plus for me- the only disadvantage was once you miss that ART- we walked it - up over a freeway- and being slightly out of shape was not fun at 6 am trying to make gate opening! LOL- Learned that the Art nu 10 also stops here when busy- FYI>
Also stayed at Motel 6 once with my 16 year old for his B-day. The one near Disney- very modern- nice staff, cheap prices- no noise etc, but cons where hair on towels and wasclothes yuk! And on the floor- no ref, and the bathroom door was wierd- not really private- if you have some bathroom issues- hell better tell your party to go outside LOL.
