So happy!....Just checked in at Windsor Hills

I am going to have to reinsert all the photos I posted, something I did on photobucket is causing them to not show up now :headache: This is why I will probably never do a trip report :sad2:

Thank you Gina, hopefully they are showing up now. I am not particularly good at this kind of stuff which is why I have rarely posted any photos in the close to three years I've been coming on the Disboards

Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to post (and re-post) your photos. We are staying at Windsor Hills for a portion of our December trip and so appreciate your kindness in sharing your experience with all of us.
Thanks again and hope you have a great day!:)

Thank you for the kind words. Have a magical trip!

We are here right now and can agree - this place is awesome!! The entire resort is very well-maintained and very kept up. I love the guards for security. Our condo is impeccable and the children have an awesome Mickey room with bunk beds. Two full bathrooms, a lanai, laundry, kitchen, two bedrooms, living room...it's awesome! And we really are only 7-8 minutes from Animal Kingdom. Tomorrow is Epcot!

We really enjoyed driving to the park today. We did not envy the people waiting for buses in the hot sun, while we just walked to our car and were home in under 10 minutes. When our kids got cranky, the only thing between us and their bed was a short walk to the car. :)

VERY happy with our Windsor Hills condo!!! Any more questions, I am here until Saturday and happy to help.

Oh - we had a stroller rental from Baby Wheels Orlando. They delivered it at 8am and the cleaning people brought it into the condo, so it was in here when we arrived. We love the stroller so far!!

Thanks for sharing your review also! Would you mind sharing what building you are in?

This is great to hear, glad you are enjoying your trip and your condo :thumbsup2. We also enjoyed our drives to the parks and it was a lot easier than we imagined it would be. My kids were happy that we were still able to use the trams, monorails, and ferry though. To them a Disney trip isn't complete without using some form of Disney transportation

Reading your comments was a great way to start my Monday morning. Thanks for posting it! We will be renting a townhouse in Windsor Hills starting Monday, June 17th....2 weeks!!! :cool1: It is our first time off site so, even though I am excited, I am still a little nervous about staying there. In particular, I was wondering if getting back and forth to the parks is as easy as people claim. Sounds like it is though. We love our mid day break and would prefer to keep it if we could.

Sounds wonderful! Thanks so much for the review. We will be traveling with 4 adults and 2 children - did you feel like the common areas in the condo were spacious enough for your family of 6 to spread out?

Thanks so much for your Windsor Hills review. We are checking in there this Saturday, renting a townhouse. Can't wait! :cool1::cool1:

Yes, it was more than enough space for the six of us. My four kids range in age from 4-11 and we were all very comfortable. It probably doesn't seem that spacious from my photos because of the angles at which I took the photos, but the square footage of the condo is rather generous. The entryway/foyer is a large open space and the living room and dining area is also open and spacious. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms are large, and there are also large walk in closets in the first and third bedrooms. There are dvd players in the living room and each of the bedrooms too. We rented a couple movies from the Redbox at the Publix and enjoyed having a couple relaxing movie nights during our vacation. On our first Disney trip two years ago we stayed at AS Music in a 520 sq ft family suite, so the square footage of this condo made us feel like we had a home away from home :goodvibes

Can you tell me what the parking fee is at the parks?

When we were there it was $14/day for MK, Epcot, HS, and AK; but I think it was recently raised to $15/day based on what I've been reading from others on the DISboards. We didn't go to any of the waterparks so I am not sure what is charged for parking there.

Thanks for the review. We are planning a WDW in early Dec and are thinking of getting a WH townhouse. We have a 2 yo and I really can't see spending a week in a tiny hotel room with him when we could have all the extra space to let him run around when we are not in the parks.

Yes, parking is now $15. It's very easy to get to all of the parks. MK is a little longer, but I still think staying off-site is completely worth it. :)

We are in a building on Comrow. Great unit. We are currently doing another load of laundry while we enjoy a glass of wine in the living room. There is nothing like having all of that space and privacy. We are very happy with our decision. :)

Any other questions?

Even when you take parking and car rental into consideration, I think in most cases you will end up paying less with a condo than even staying at the value resorts on Disney property. Not to mention the money you can save on food (whether you cook in or eat out off-property). I'm sure there's something to staying in one of the nicer resorts on property, but I think I'll save that for when our kids are older and I don't have to pay out the ying-yang to have enough rooms and beds where we won't drive each other nuts. :rotfl:

I agree. The total cost of our 3 bedroom condo, minivan rental, gas, and parking fees still came out to be hundreds of dollars less than it would have cost us to get two standard rooms at a value resort - even with the spring room discount that was out. Plus being able to drive to Publix and having a full kitchen gave us the ability to eat breakfast (except on our Chef Mickey's day) and a few dinners back at the condo which saved us even more on food/meals as well. DH and I both agree that we would love to experience staying at one of the monorail resorts at WDW for the proximity to the MK or being able to catch the monorail (or walk from the Poly) to the TTC for the transfer to Epcot; but for my family of six that most likely won't happen unless we hit the lottery  I do enjoy the all inclusive aspect of staying onsite and having the opportunity to split up and use Disney transportation to go back to the resort if some of us want to remain in the parks longer and others don't; but we found so much value in the space, amenities, and savings we gained by staying offsite during this trip that it is going to be very tough not making Windsor Hills our first choice for our next trip :goodvibes

We have rented a condo in Windsor Hills for 5 nights in Aug. first off site experience for us and we are looking forward to it.
