Well, after a horrible 9.5 hour drive from GA we are finally in our room at the beach club. So far, I am not impressed. I will give it a chance but I want to share our first hour. We pull up to check in and sit in our vehicle for 10 minutes waiting. 5 people at the podium, one other guest checking in. I get out and ask if someone can help us. We get our bags unloaded and walk in and just stood around lol. We stay club level and at other Disney resorts a CM greets us and takes us up. Not this time. We did the normal check in, had to go to bell services for our luggage and they didn’t even show us to our room. So far, not so good.

It's their busiest week of the year. As your countdown shows "I know it will be crazy crowded but..." I'm sure you'll experience other frustrations while you are there as well. You can either focus on those, or the fact that you get to stay club level at a top hotel in Disney World, and are not stuck in Georgia for the week. I hope things go smoothly for you for the remainder of your trip!

Getting better. The CL Lounge is amazing! Also the lounge staff is really really focused on the guest experience.

Have a couple of their complimentary drinks and let that worry melt away! It's what I plan to do when I bring my own drinks in in a week and a half.

I suspect they noticed you just sitting in the car and thought you were just picking up somebody.

I agree. We get dropped off by a car service, but as we get out at YC we get offered assistance. The rare times we aren’t, we just walk to the bell stand & ask for assistance. I will say Y & B seem to have let the club level curbside greeting drop. The last time we were there we had done online check in & got a room ready text. So we went right to the elevators, tapped ours bands which worked & up to our room we went.

Glad to see things improved once you got upstairs OP. Enjoy your vacation!!

I’m always curious about this. We’ve stayed club level a number of times (on average four out of five stays), and no one has ever greeted us outside. I always read about people who have this experience, and I wonder why it never happens to us. I’ve even observed CMs with tablets greet other families getting off our same ME bus. I sometimes wonder if I should just approach one myself but have never done this. We get in the regular check in line only if we haven’t received a text that our room is ready. The CM who checks us in usually walks us at least to the building/floor where the lounge is and introduces us to the concierge CM.

FWIW, the only place I’ve had a CL greeter in recent times is AK (in April). I maybe had a few more in 2014-2015’ish when we first stayed CL, but it sort of went away as being a ‘thing’ sometime after that. For awhile you could usually find someone with an ipad/manager looking type and tell them you were checking in CL and they’d take you to the CL CMs... but it even seems harder to find such person out front/near the doors these days that can assist in our more recent travels.

I still read on/off reports of greeters at other resorts (WL comes to mind as a place that seems to be more consistent), but I can pretty much join you in the no greeter camp (other than AK earlier this year). :-)

Have never been greeted by anyone at any of the deluxes we've stayed at (Poly, CR, BLT, BWV, BC, SSR, WL).

Have also never had any assistance with luggage. We typically get our stuff ourselves.

Us too. Only time we’ve been “greeted” has been at AK Club level

Back to our room after a looong day and fabulous night at DAH HS. 5th floor elevator is not available due to carpet replacement in the foyer where you get off in CL. No worries. As we approached the elevator, a nice young woman knew who we were and escorted us to our room via the stairs from the 4th floor. Service here at the Beach Club is spot on.

Those folks are amazing, aren't they? I found them to be amount the best of the best.

The higher one's expectations, the more chance of being disappointed.

If I am paying the amount of money CL service costs, I have high expectations.

When you’ve had a rotten journey, things often feeel much more rotten than they actually are. Glad it’s gotten better.

Agreed.
