Anyone here ever done a totally last minute completely spontaneous trip!!?? Yesterday at work it just came to me that even just a couple of days at WDW would relieve a lot of stress and exhaustion....of course I have been planning my next 2 DVC trips and all points were spoken for. Sometimes you just have to go for it......
As soon as I got home I called member services and asked about 3 nights in a row Anywhere!!! and pieced together a trip.... BW studio 1 night and AKV value studio 2 nights (waitlisted for BW all those 2 nights). Got a reasonable flight on JetBlue and a very good car rental rate and I am off to WDW in just 12 days!!! Yes, solo!!!
Just had to share here....:yay::yay::yay::yay:

I'm glad to hear that you were able to book something on such short notice! I wonder if part of that has to do with the economy.

pixiedust: your waitlist will come through! Have a great fun and relaxing trip!

:thumbsup2 That's good - Go - have a great time and leave the world and the stress behind.

When things piece together like this has for you - it was meant to be.

:cheer2: Here's to the waitlist coming through.

Have a wonderful trip -- enjoy everything!

In answer to your question, in August 2004 we pulled 2 nights at Disney's Vero Beach arriving "same day." We were in Pompano Beach on an RCI Bonus Week vacation and took two days in the middle of the week to visit Vero. I've heard many say, "We need a vacation after the vacation" ... we took a "vacation within a vacation." :rotfl2:

Locally, we enjoy rather spontaneous trips to the Disneyland/California Adventure parks with most visits planned < 3 weeks from travel.
