I just booked AK 2-bedroom Savanna view at Kidani for April!!! I called at the 7-month mark and switched my SSR reservation. Can't wait for October 27th to book APRs and see the hours for the parks!! So love planning

You must be thrilled. I did the same thing for the end of March and can not wait. We are only staying for three nights and we may not do a park a first for us. The resort looks like it will keep us busy for the time we are there.

Congrats...but to be honest, I'm not surprised. We are also staying in a 2br savanah view in April but I checked at 7 months on availabilty at BCV and BLT and they too had 2br's available for the same week. Looks like we'll have short ridelines!

We didn't end up switching. We'll be at AKV the entire trip and we are psyched about it.

BTW our trip is the 12th-18th.

Our dates are April 17-24

JasonDVC - I hope you are right about short ride lines! We usually go off season to avoid the heat and crowds, but my niece is now in college so we had to schedule at her spring break time.

There are seven of us at this point. My son and his girlfriend might go also, which would made the 9!!

Watching for Southwest to schedule their April flights or lower fares on AirTran We will fly out of Philadelphia and my son & his girlfriend would fly out of Baltimore.

Just so excited....wasn't able to get my Disney fix this year....but now am counting down to April

You will love AKV! We stayed in a 2BR savannah view this past August-it was really hard to tear ourselves away from the resort. Have a wonderful time!

I totally agree. We were in a 2 bedroom savanna view in August as well. Our room was in a great location, (third bead, very close to pool.) I felt like I never wanted to leave the resort. I could definitely see us doing a "resort only" trip in the future.
Between Jambo House and Kidani, the dining options are great. We ate a Sanaa 3 times. Once for lunch, and twice for dinner. We also ate at Boma and Jiko and I was just amazed at the quality and variety of the food. I know lots of people complain about the lack of CS at Kidani, we didn't miss it.
The walk over to Jambo was not bad, and if you don't want to walk, the bus service is great to get you over there. I also loved the pool area, I have little ones, 2 and 5, and they were just as happy to stay by the pool rather than the parks.
I also think that the covered parking was a genius idea. Between the heat and frequent short summer rain storms, I thought this was just great! I loved being able to park right near the elevator, and being able to be at our room in minutes. I know others have complained about the lack of views in the parking garage, but seriously! I think the layout was brilliant.

I was more than pleased with our Kidani stay and look forward going back soon!

We will be there on Saturday!

We were able to check out Kidani when they had an Open House for members and we really liked it. We are trying a 1-bedroom for the first time (usually go for a 2 bedroom) as it was the only way to get in with a savanah view. We hope to just hang out for those two days - before we switch over to the VWL for 6 nights.

Southwest will open their airfare thru May on October 13. I was checking some other airlines for the week we are going and let me just say the prices were . I have my fingers crossed for low fares from Southwest but have to admit I'm a little nervous. We'll see.
