I am a DVC member and my family and I are so excited to be staying at the Polynesian in a Lake View studio in July. I have read many articles regarding the renovations. I was wanting any responses to anyone that has stayed in a studio room since they opened April 1. In particular if you had a LakeView room were you happy with your view and room in general. Also if the laundry room was adequate or if you had to wait to do your laundry due to machines being in use. Thanks for any responses.

Anxious to read more reviews also...Will be there in October, standard studio...CAN'T WAIT!

I just stayed in a lakeview studio this past weekend. We were on the second floor at the far end away from the ferryboat dock. I thought our view was very nice. We looked out at the castle and Space Mountain. We watched Wishes from our balcony. You do hear the ferryboat horn. It did not bother me but we did hear it about 5:30 each morning. They also raked the beach in the morning (which is right in front of the lakeview studios) and that started about 6:45 or 7:00. The shower was wonderful. I did not need to use the laundry room. The bungalows blocked a good view of the water pageant that they do nightly. We walked down to the beach to watch it one night. Hope this helps!

We are hoping to book it over Thanksgiving week. We should be able to book tomorrow, so my fingers are crossed. It is available as of this evening!

Thanks BWVSue. Would you recommmend a room farther away from the boat dock? I think I will end of taking ear plugs anyway. Thanks again.

How much of the MK can you really see with the bungalows and the island between the longhouses and the MK?

Yes, I think the farther away from the boat dock the better. I was in room 2016 which was the 2nd room in from the end. The Magic Kingdom was also open until 2 AM for extra magic hours Saturday night/Sunday morning that I was there so the boats were blowing their horns until early in the morning. Also, the 3rd floor would give you a better view.

I thought it was a very nice view. We did have a palm tree that broke up our view. You could definitely see the Castle and Space Mountain. But I don't think the bungalows really blocked the view of the Magic Kingdom, at least not from the 2nd floor. If you were on the 1st floor, the bungalows and the island might block more of the view.

We have a LV studio before the DVC member cruise. Last week I was able to book one for friends for one night. We are very much looking forward to this! We stayed in Poly in 1977 during our first WDW visit. Recently, we've only gone there for meals.
