So as the title states i booked my very first DVC stay and just to add a little stress and excitement i managed to do it with getting a points transfer. With it being Easter week in April and dark side marathon weekend I really didn't want to chance waiting until the 7 month mark and not be able to get BWV -- this is for a convention at the swan and dolphin -- I am looking forward to my 5:30am walks over to the convention center.

Anyways - my question is -- i booked a garden view studio. Right now it will be just me and one other person. I know they have the pull down little Murphy bed, but was wondering if those beds are really more appropriate for a child or could an adult comfortably sleep in them? There might be others traveling down who might want to room share so i don't know if it would be an option to offer this bed to an adult.

Hi and congrats! What a great resort for the convention at the Swan and Dolphin! I haven't slept in a Murphy bed myself but my good friend and her Mom stay at VGF and see the Murphy bed as an improvement. One takes the bed and the other the Murphy bed. Mom says it is comfortable and much better than the sofa/ pull down bed before they had at resorts. I hope this helps! So they def hold an adult.

Welcome home!!!
You will need to have anyone staying in your room added to the reservation. Just e-mail MS or call and add their names.

Thank you, yes I am aware of this. I know it sleeps 5, but i am certainly not going to be sharing a bed with a co-worker so at most we will have 3 of us in the room. I did a studio at SSR (rental) and with my family of 4 it did feel like it were were on top of each other.

I slept a few nights on the new pull down bed at bwv. I am a 40 something, normal sized adult. I did fine, except for bumping my head a few times during the night.

I would not recommend this bed to a larger sized person, or someone with limited mobility. I found the bed to be smaller than a normal twin sized bed and harder yo get in and out of. It almost has a small roof on it - why I kept bumping my head when getting up!

Just be aware that the murphy bed is smaller than twin sized - shorter and narrower.

I slept great on the murphy bed because it was firmer than the queen size bed which is too soft for me. My husband was fine with the softer queen size bed.

My DD14 is 5'2 at 105 lbs. She sleeps on the murphy bed all the time comfortably and actually prefers it. I've napped there and had no problem either - I'm slightly bigger than DD at 5'4 and 115 lbs. I don't think it would work for a taller adult though since it appears to be a bit short.
