I cannot believe we got what we wanted! I just tried on the off chance and we got a lake view studio for Feb!!! My home resort is AK and we have not even had the chance to stay there yet but this trip it is just me and my two little ones so I wanted to be closer to MK. I have not traveled with the girls by myself since my husband died last April so trying to make it easy as it can be! Well just wanted to share because I am so happy! And so are my kids...they love the monorail!!

I just finished looking at Jack Spence's pictures of BLT and am very excited about our Feb. vacation too. Now I'm wonder what description to use to request a view I want.

DonaldDoleWhip put his reasoning on a post on the BLT Single Digit Dance thread. Here's the link: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33019299&postcount=64

He discusses the northern MK view versus the southern MK view. And suggests getting a floor as high as possible. It sounds like you see more of the MK without going on the balcony with a northern view. The southern view you see more of Contemporary Resort and less of distance views of the Poly and GF. But still see the MK from the balcony. But it's still best if you read the above link with all of the details.

Congratulations. BLT sounds perfect for you and the girls. I can see it now. A 15 minute walk to gate for you and the girls (5 minutes longer for those short legs). Ride some of their favorite things, then lunch with the princesses and back home for a little rest/nap and the afternoon at the pool. :cloud9:

Wishing you the best!

Congratulations on booking BLT. I am sure this will be a bittersweet trip for you, and I hope it all goes well and according to your plans.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your husband. I hope you have a magical trip with your children.pixiedust:

Thank you everyone for the well wishes! I am really excited and nervous to go it alone with the girls but I know we will have a blast! I am even letting them choose most of our dining ressies! ( okay...within reason...i can only handle so many character meals!! lol )

So glad that you got what you wanted - it sounds like it will be an amazing trip. Traveling solo with your girls will be easier than you think, just you wait and see. :-) I remember your post last year about losing your DH, and trying to face WDW without him - I just want you to know that I have thought about you and your girls many times, wondering how you've been. It certainly seems like you are keeping the Disney Dream alive and well for your family - that is so awesome.

I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts . . . And ENJOY many years of Disney with your new DVC membership. :-)

I am glad you got what you wanted. Best wishes.:grouphug:

So sorry for your loss. Stay positive. I think you will surprise yourself and have a great time.

I am the single mother of a 4 year old with ADHD and ODD. This past March, we were supposed to go with a friend of mine. Well, the friend cancelled a month before the trip and I went into panic mode, terrified that my son would have a series of meltdowns and I would have to deal with it all alone in public. Well, we had a great time and I can honestly say that it was the best vacation we have ever had. We just took it slow and I remained very flexible. When he said he was tired, I headed for the exit and we went swimming. We both have wonderful memories of that trip and we both can wait to go back. I hope that you can create wonderful memories with your girls as well.

Please post upon your return (or while you are there) so that we can all share in your joy.

All the best.
