Your DH will be in our prayers for a speedy full recovery. As someone else said, maybe start planning your new trip, ya know, not booking or anything but have the kids each pick a day and they can plan the entire day from bfast to bed time. That may help.

I'm so sorry! Hoping some pixie dust makes it way to your house soon. Maybe start planning a 2009 vacatin so the kids can do a countdown? Far enough away that hopefully things will be on the upswing.

Thank you all so much. As you may have guessed I stayed away from the disboards for awhile. I just couldn't handle being on here hearing about others trip right now as you can imagine. I just have to say you all have been so great in trying to cheer me up and your thoughts & prayers are so much appreciated I can't even tell you.
I will take it all in and my husband is doing ok but still struggling to get back to work. They are sending him for a EMG this week which will test his nerve reaction and God willing he will be ok.
Its a very scary time as you can imagine. The money is getting low so its very difficult to keep spirits up but we are all trying.
Well the good news of all of this is that when I called to canceal our trip which including free dinning the CM asked if I had any reservations that I would like her to canceal and guess what? 7 out of my 9 ressie weren't even there! I would have freaked out so bad if I was there and was told we couldn't be seated. Oh man. Also my children all had pictures this week, the attorney I work for was called in for a big trial, my oldest who is senior had collage fares this week, so I guess all things considered it was best that we be home. I also found out this last weeked that our dog needs surgery on his ear. It just never ends but hey as they say what are you gonna do?
I just want you all to know its meant so much to me to have all your support doing this time.

"I feel your pain. We had our trip planned for over a year. My DH's aunt and her kids/grand kids were going to go with us. (total of 13 of us) My DH blew out his knee and has been off of work since early August. He is going in for surgery on Thurs. We had to cancel our trip too. If we didn't have to cancel we would be at MGM right now.
My prayers are with you and your family right now.

It sucks so bad. We planned so far in advance cause with a family and income our size we can't do anything on a whim. I am so sorry you are in the same situation as us. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. My prayers are with you and your family and I hope your husband is better soon as well.
Hey would it be terriable to leave your husband with mine and just you, me and the kids go to DWD? I'm kidding lol.

Maybe visit the "Pay it Forward" thread and ask some of the people who are visiting this week to send your kids a postcard? If they could each get one from their favorite character saying "So sorry we didn't get to see you, but we know your dad means much more; sending pixie dust and wishes to see you next time," etc. That would give them another connection to the World.

Hey all, as you can see I was suppose to be leaving on vacation tonight.
We were all set to go ,even had free dinning and a moderate hotel, which we normanlly can't swing and we had to canceal. My husband crushed his arm in a forklift this past August. He is recovering but still in a lot of pain as well as going to therphy 3 times a week, so vacation needed to be cancealed. The kids, my husband and I were so looking forward to this trip. We had booked back in April and have been counting down until the day we were to leave.
I am so greatful that I have kids who know that Daddy being ok is the most important thing but how can anyone expect them not to be alittle down about not going after so much planning? Any suggestions on how to make it easier on us all would be great. As you may have guest, money is low as well as my husband spirits. He feels sooooooo bad that we had to canceal due to his injury, not that anyone blames him but he blames himself. I am requesting good thought, lots of prayers and a ton of pixie dust from all of my friends out there and please say alittle extra prayer that we get to make the trip sooner then later. Thanks all.
