I would totally buy this lens for whale watching and birding; I'm sure it's great. But how do you fit it on a smallish DSLR like the D90? It weighs 39 pounds! That's insane. I would have to start lifting weights to build up some serious muscle mass to cart this thing around!
I was just kidding. Guess it didn't come across...I can barely handle lugging my tripod around much less this monstrosity!you don't mount that lens on a dslr,,,you mount your dslr on that lens, which is already mounted on a very good tripod..

If you can afford that thing you just bring your sherpa to carry it.
