I recently thought that "Spoodles" was the coolest word I'd ever heard of...for the last few weeks, I've been calling my bf Spoodles, saying Spoodles when I get frustrated, and of course..."Where in the Spoodles is my purse?!"

Do you have any catch phrases or interesting words that you use? :)

whenever i think something is funny, ill say its torrid because its a joke between my friend and I....this girl on our softball team thought that it was such a horrible word and i got a kick out of that....

i also say yawp. or i say chikaka (from ace ventura)

like when i stub my toe.

For a while, I had one of my managers convinced I was from Canada, because of a tendancy to use the phrase "eh", because I pronounce Detroit with 3 syllables (Dee-troy-it), and because I have a slight canadian accent when speaking "ou" words (out, about, etc)

I have picked up "wicked." As in, "it's wicked hot." "That's wicked retarded."

I think I'm all set to move to the North East, eh? :teeth:

Hooah!!

When something is really great

Yes, people look at me VERY funny down here in the South. But, I refuse to say phrases such as: fixin' to; y'all; might could.

I also ask people, " what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?", when they start interjecting unrelated things into a conversation.

I have to say spididdle when I see one headlight on an oncoming car. I still say allrightythen from Ace ventura, and a co-worker got me saying"ohyeah" all in one word and trailing off the "ah" in yeah. Remember the 80's word bogue- as in "that was so bogue of him to ditch you like that" I swear I came up with that. I know I came up with "we must be supposed to be here" when you get a good parking spot at the store. If we drive up to one my Dh or I will say "there is a we must be supposed to be here spot" That is all I have.

Edited to say: you cant just throw around that last one- it has to be the first or second spot next to the store or just past the handicapped spots. Walmart is the only exception- you can say it for the first 15 spots there because I never get a we must be supposed to be here spot there!!

I personally also like "rock on!" People give me funny looks with that one.:teeth:

Not sure if it fits within your topic well enough, but my spouse and I adapt movie quotes in conversation.

For example, when playing cards and one person is taking a bit longer than usual to complete a play, it isn't uncommon for the waiting player to comment, "Well, when you and your homeys (sp?) decide to throw down." (A take off a quote from High School High)

We have quite a few "quotes" that we utilize in a similar fashion. It's kinda weird, and I'm not quite sure how/why we started doing it, but we find we do it a lot and have the same "triggers."

wow you just sparked another one of my random sayings...

whenever me and my brother are out in public , we are known as garth and wayne, like from wayne's world....so naturally we just say party on to each other:D

I say 'Score!', which started as a joke, but I only say it around DH :smooth:

My husband and I are huge fans of South Park and find ourselves repeating things from there. A favorite is "tree-fidy", which is suppose to be 3.50, but Chef's parents say it the other way.
Another favorite is the funny way that Cartman say "here" as in, "I'm moving over here". I don't even know how to spell it, but I'm sure South Park fans know what I am talking about. ;)
