So do the parks seem worse with FP+??

I myself think they are trying to weed out the true fun of the Park Hopper. If you can just use 3 FP+ per day that is plain stupid! i mean the luxury of the PH is to got hit other Parks and we generally end back at MK. So if your at a Park like HS that has more then 3 good rides you've exhausted them. We havn't used the new FP+ bit iy seems it would work better for single day tickets with no PH...
Thoughts?

The park hopper is the only part of the Fastpass+ that I really don't anticipate liking. I can see the positives and negatives for Fastpass+, and I think I can deal. It will be nice not to have to literally run for fast-passes and be able to ride things like Toy Story at the end of the day. For the par hopping, we got the fast-passes for the second park we plan on going for certain days. We usually plan each of our 8 days, but rarely stick to it when we actually get there. I am going in with an open mind and positive attitude, but still wish I could do more than one park dice I play the extra money for the hoppers.

This is obviously why they would be hesitant to allow FP+ at multiple parks per day.

MK is already the most crowded park with long wait times. Since most PH'ers split the day with MK, that puts a big load on the MK lines.

I hear everyone complaining.... but I have to say that my family and I just got back and we had a terrific time even with the whole FP+. We didn't ride ToT or RnR in HW.... but my kids are 8 and 4 and a little adventurous, but not needing to do every big ride.

I will write more about it another time, but I'll write a little bit. We did park hop. We spent the morning in HW where our FP were and then after a long nap by our little guy, without FP we went to Epcot around 6:30 and even made it onto Soarin' with a 10 minute wait just as Illuminations was going to start. We actually did all the things I had for FP the following day, so we altered that on our devices as we went along.

I found that you have to still be flexible and use the disney app to guide you by watching wait times... which we found to be best early in the morning and later in the evening... and using and changing your FP. And we never used all of our FP and still did all of those attractions we wanted to.

Guess the expectations come from people who used to send family members running from ride to ride getting as many FP per day as possible... we were never those people... so this didn't really change my touring style. You find a good wait time.... you ride it. or you have a FP.

I don't really understand it. WDW makes money by charging extra for the park hopper ticket option. I would think they would want to encourage park hopping through FP+, not discourage it.

While they might make money due to the park hopper option, I would anticipate that they can better manage payroll expenses based on having people schedule their itinerary in advance. This savings in payroll would more than offset any potential loss that a reduction in park hoppers would present.

The new FP+ encourages you to spend more days to do the parks, not try to cramp parks into 1/2 days. So when you consider the financial tradeoff... if your 6-night stay would cost $300 to add Hoppers... but adding another day would cost $300. Well, before you might do the Hoppers. Now you'd add the day. An extra day is 3 more FP for you (good for the customer) and another day of food and incidentals you buy (better for Disney).

I disagree about park hopping. I think fastpass+ can actually help get more done in your second park. When you arrive at your first park in the morning, you are more likely to have lower wait times. By the afternoon, wait times are typically higher - everywhere. Having three fastpass+ choices in your second park means that you can head straight to the park and your attraction - no waiting around until your fastpass window opens up because you could only get the pass once in the park. It also means you are more likely to get a fast pass for Soarin', TT, or TSM without showing up at rope drop (we'll have to see how early these need to be booked once off-site get to pre-book). Do I like being limited to three fast passes? Absolutely not, but I do think it is possible to make fastpass work well (better? not as poorly?) with a park hopper.

My typical trips are only two days and I like to see all the parks. A typical weekend for me is:
Day 1 - start at HS (usually EMH) - leave around noon and head to Epcot and use my fastpasses here (occasionally I will save them and head to MK at night and use them there)

Day 2 - start at MK - leave around one or two and head to AK - use fastpasses at AK and done around 6 or 6:30

I know this is not how everyone likes to travel but it does show how to use fastpass+ while park hopping.
