We have a trip planned from 9/7 - 9/14 (Free Dining), and I realized that MNSSHP is on the 14th, so I just called to try and extend our stay for one more night so we could go to the party, and there isn't anything available. :sad1:
I was so looking forward to going to the party!

Not sure where you are staying, but if you go to the website, there is all kind of room only availblity, if your just trying to add another day? The 14th came up with alot of availabity. Might not be with the dining plan, or the resort you want but if your somewhat flexible you should be able to stay on property somewhere.

Good luck, mky:cutie:

Is MNSSHP really that great?! We were going to go to the MK the 14th and I purposely changed our plans to go to Epcot to avoid the crowds at MK that day...what does it all intail...I though just the trick-or-treating (which my kids would be sweating their butts off in costumes) and a parade/show?

We enjoyed it very much. Yes there is trick or treating. Many characters out with costumes on. A parade like no other, started by the headless horseman. Fireworks that are worth the price of admission. Dance parties are held, at different sites. Just a very fun, and special occassion.

If you have never been to a special event, it is well worth going. It is a hard ticket, so extra cost is involved.

Thank you Mky...I thought of that after I called and wondered if I could do that...the package until the 14th and then just get a reservation for the one night...no dining. Would they be able to put that under my reservation or would I have to check in again? Do you know?

Thanks!!

But we have done the MVMCP several times and have our tickets again for this year. The special events are pretty special and one of the draws is that there is a limited number of tickets sold so the crowd level is lower during one of these events ( so lines aren't as long for the rides). Our DD has done the MNSSHP before and had a great time ( you don't have to wear a costume, but might be fun for the kids).

If you are planning on staying in the same resort / category > just tell them at check in you have a second ressie (continuing reservation) and would appreciate being able to keep the same room. Should not be a problem. That day you will have to stop at the desk, redo paper work, and get new keys, and your on your way. Yes, you will have to do another deposit.

I'm confused about what you mean 'hard ticket.' I'm going to be there during the nights of joy at MK, so can I not get into the park those nights without a special ticket?

I am new at this.. and Sept 10-22 will be our first trip to WDW. We decided to go to MNSSHP. Hard ticket means just that, We called to get tickets for this event and within 4 days we had our "Hard tickets" They are like a credit card (with wonderful characters on them. Cinderella, Mickey) I believe that the park closes to anyone that does not have a hard ticket (at 7pm)

We also were concerned about the heat and costumes... we came up with a idea... DD 8 and DD5 are going as Lilo (little grass skirts, flower leis around 1 ankle and 1 wrist. ) DH and DS 16 will be going as 'surfer dudes'. So everyone is still 'dressed up' but not to hot!

Thanks!

On MNSSHP nights, they sell separate hard tickets for the night's event. http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mnssh.htm

Same as you must purchase a separate ticket for Night Of Joy, the same goes for MNSSHP. Usually the party starts at 8 pm. You need to get a wristband, because anyone who does not have one is politely asked to exit the park or purchase a ticket if they are not sold out. I was at MNSSHP last Oct and even those guests lingering in the Emporium around 8:30-9 pm, were asked politely to leave the store. They were checking everyone's wrist bands. More so than I had recalled during past parties.

Thanks for the quick answers. Maybe i'm blind :cool2: , but I didn't see any info on buying these on the disney site. Anyone know how much they are, and how to get them? I'm already stretching the budget to the max, so if they're much more I may just know to avoid planning to be at MK those two nights. :sad1:

When we stayed at POR in 2005 with two ressies, I was able to call the night before check out to arrange for someone to come to my room at 8 am and check us out and back in again. It was quick and easy and we never had to leave the room. :) You could ask ahead of time if they will do this for you. Good luck!
