So disappointed...

My dh and I decided in December to surprise our oldest dd with tickets to a dinner theater for her 7th birthday. We were going to see "The Wizard of Oz" in the end of March. We bought the tickets, marked the calendar, found a sitter for our younger dd. I have to give 3 months notice at work to take a vacation day do I put in for my day off. We were all set.

Well, we get a call today that they have canceled all shows of "The Wizard of Oz." Now we have no gift for our dd. They don't have any other shows scheduled that she would like. The theater said we can choose another show but if we can't find another one they can refund us our money. Which is great but we have been looking forward to surprising our dd with this for months and now we have nothing to surprise her with.

Aww Jennifer I am so sorry to hear this. Here you had everything planned out so nice, put your thinking cap on and see what you and DH can come up with. I hope everything works out.

couldn't you just find another show to surprise her with? any idea why they called off WOZ?

OMG....I think I remember your original post about getting the tickets for this (I believe it involved your in-laws secretly getting tickets also????) this is at Three Little Bakers, right? any idea why they called off the show? That is strange...I don't think that I ever heard of them doing that in the past. I know I looked at their schedule when you mentioned it before, but I think you are right...there really isn't anything else that a young girl might like....except maybe the Christmas show....but would you really want to wait that long??? I am sorry because I know how disappointed you are.

I have no idea why they cancelled the show. My dh answered the phone and he never thought to ask why. I'm nosy I would have asked right away.

This is the show that my inlaws planned to get tickets too but, I had convinced them that it would be so wonderful for them to babysit our younger dd, that way my dh and I could have a good time knowing that the baby was safe and sound. Which actually is true.

We are looking into other shows. I'm just having a tough time finding anything that isn't a long way off.
