So disappointed about early closure

We are arriving on Tuesday and are shocked to just now find it is closing at 6 pm that night. We only budgeted for one park - will Disney be issuing free upgrades to a park hopper that day?

Which park are you talking about?

If you don't like it that one park is closing early maybe you could change your plans to a park that closes later. Disney won't give free upgrades to a park hopper.

If you're talking about Animal Kingdom, they will not issue upgrades because that park closes earlier than the others due to the animals. That is the only park closing at 6 on Tuesday. The others are closing around 7 or 8 pm, 9:30 for Epcot.

Anaheim is closing at 6 on Mon and Tues this week. Just found out. Plus huge rains = but that cant be helped.

Were you just planning to go to Magic Kingdom? They probably have a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party that night, which requires a separate ticket for entry. It's possibly you could maybe talk to the people at ticketing, explain the situation and have your passes changed to Christmas Party tickets. Though the party doesn't officially start till around 7 at night, they usually allow Party ticket holders into the park around 4 (I believe). That way you'd still get to go to Magic Kingdom AND you'd get to see the Christmas parade and fireworks and they have free hot chocolate and cookies, too!

If you only budgeted for one park and Disneyland is closing at 6, why not go to California Adventure instead? Otherwise, just get there early and do as much as you can (keeping in mind that there won't be any fireworks or evening parade).

I recommend always checking the park hours before you get tickets for individual parks. Same for the Extra Magic Hours - helps in planning. This year we have left over hopper tickets for one day- gonna buy a single day ticket for the park my 17 and 20 year old want to spend most time in.... We are staying at Disney - and that way on Christmas - Magic Kingdom has Magic hours at 7-8am - and Epcot at 9:30pm-12:30am. Get all the use out of that ticket we can! Sleep the next day (changing hotels to near Universal - and off day!).

CA Adventure closes at 9:00pm Mon & Tues. DL is open until 11:00 or 12:00 the rest of the week.

So the OP would have more time (better value for their budget) at California Adventure, right? Which, despite it not being the original park, makes it a better choice, do you think?

Otherwise they might want to get to DL up to an hour before it opens, having first paid for a touring plan from RideMax to optimize their visit?
