So, did I do the right thing?

I called CRO today to see if I could get the discount. I just registered with Disney online last week and I have not been to WDW since 2001. I asked for a quote for Nov at VWL. I was given the standard rate and then asked I asked if there were any special rates or discounts available. The CM said no and then recommended that I make the reservation, so that I could apply discounts when they come out a few months before our stay (which I don't believe for a second). I was reluctant to do so, and then he said that they could hold the reservation for me for 14 days, before making a deposit. I again, declined.

My thinking is that I am more likely to get a discount code sent to me without a reservation. I would think we are good candidates for a discount, because we probably aren't going without one.

So, do you think I did the right thing by not keeping a reservation or should I have kept the ressie and hoped for a break down the road. My plan is to call daily and see what happens.

Thanks,
Eric

I guess you can play the wait and see game if you are comfortable with it. You only risk losing the resort you want to stay in with the dates you want. And there probably will be discounts out for November. There was last year. In fact I keep going over my package price from last November and determining that I paid close to what I would be paying for WL with this discount. Go figure. We haven't determined what triggers a code to someone but there is no reason to believe you will or won't get one now. Good Luck!

I don't think your making the reservation will matter. I just made reservations for 30% off a value resort about a week later. The post card was NOT for the time period we are booked for (I think it is too early for that).
I would go ahead and make the reservation, you can always change or cancel up to very close to your trip.

HAVE FUN!!!!

I have called Disney 4 times now to check on a code. They say look in your newspaper or on our web site. I have yet to find any code. I need that 40% off. Help. It is just 3 small letters. Thanks in advance.
