My local park Six Flags Great America was opened this weekend for the last time this year and was a bonus as it wasnt originally suppossed to be open. I went on Sunday to get in my last local coaster fix of the year and the park wasnt busy but it is cold when riding roller coasters when it is the high 30's/low 40's. So big crowds werent expected so most rides were walk ons and re-rides were available. It was even slower on Saturday and Friday night from what i was told.
So did anybody else in the cold weather parts of the country brave the elements as alot of parks closed last weekend or this one for the season.
If you went how was it??

You went this weekend??

We went to Cedar Point last weekend (it was at least in the 50's! :teeth:), but it wasn't one final trip of the season for us, it was our only chance this year to get to the park minus DS. We rode everything!! :):)

I wish that we could have found the time, but we just couldn't get back to Cedar Point (even though the whole family had season passes).

Well i wasnt going to go but i read some trip reports on the net and heard that most rides were walk ons so being nutty after working a 13 1/2 hr day i decided to go to the park one last time for this year. We arrived around noon and stayed till around 430pm so i could get a couple of hours sleep before going back to work. The park was pretty empty and most rides were walk ons but it did get cold once it became cloudy and windy and it is a different experience to go down the drop of a 205 ft coaster when it is windy and in the mid 30's!!! But it was very good but i regret not going on friday night as the park was even less busy!

I wanted to make it to Cedar Point for "Halloweekends", but we never made it. :(
Oh well, there's always next year. We didn't do too bad, this year we went to:
1. Cedar Point
2. Six Flags Ohio
3. Canada's Wonderland
4. Michigan's Adventure
5. WDW

We thought about trying to go to Hershey Park as well, for the Halloween thing, but couldn't make the trip.

We may go in December, but they aren't running the coasters then.

As for parks i have went ot this year.
Six Flags Great America and Paramounts Kinds Island.
But luckily for our Dec vacation we are going to DL/DCA/Universal Studios Hollywood/Knotts Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountian, allfor the first time so i cant wait.
I havent been to Cedar Point and im looking forward to going their soon, next year i hope to go to a coaster event that is going to be held at Paramounts Kings Dominion and Busch gadens Williamsburg.
