So depressed over ADRs!!

Thanks everyone! I'll just keep trying. It's a bummer that I have to call for those two things though. If I could book them online it would be SO much easier to keep checking back on them. We don't really care about the Fantasmic package, DH just LOVES the Brown Derby's Flourless Chocolate Cake (he talks about it ALL the time!). I was able to book the Brown Derby with out the Fantasmic package and that will be fine if needed. The Candlelight Processional package I really cared about because I really want to see that show and don't want to stand in the stand-by line. Perhaps I will consider the Hoop-dee-do show instead of Fantasmic... My son will only 13 months when we go. Do you think he'll enjoy a charactor dinner?

Congratulations!!

Sorry you didnt get the ressies you wanted.

As far as people booking disney rooms and canceling that is Aweful!! The things people think of to take advantage. That is for resort guests I feel if that is what they are doing then when the resort gets cancelled so should the ressies. That is a benefit to staying with disney.

Oh, good idea! WDW can pull up your resort ressie when you book ADRS so when one calls to cancel the ressies, it automatically cancels your ADRS! I love it! That way, it will prevent people from circumventing the system. If they want to go ahead and try to get their ADRS at the point they cancel the ressie, fine. It would encourage people not to hang on to a room they had no intention of using just to keep an ADR they should not have booked to begin with.:thumbsup2

Ok so we're staying offsite so I don't get the benefit of 90+10. I called this morning at 7am exactly to make my ADRs for 11/30. I wanted desperately to make a Le Cellier candlelight processional ressie, if that was full then I wanted a Brown Derby Fantasmic package. BOTH WERE BOOKED. 7am 90 days out! I am beyond bummed. Why did I bother doing all this planning if I can't even make the reservations I want! I knew it was going to be difficult with the 90+10 option of those staying on site, but they had NOTHING available... I didn't care what time we had! Sorry I just needed to vent. I'm just so bummed about this. :sad1:

Sorry you did not get the ADR’s you wanted. I am in the same boat and I am staying on property. Everyone in our family got to pick a restaurant I was able to get everyone’s 1st choice but mine. I so want to try LeCellier. I booked our ADR’s yesterday at 6AM doing 90+10. I was a bit disappointed but I then I thought a week without having to cook a meal, serve a meal & clean up from a meal is great regardless of where I eat. :woohoo: I am not giving up hope though I keep trying a few times :surfweb: a day hoping something will open up. Good luck send pixie dust pixiedust: your way that you are able to get the ADR’s you want.
(I couldn't figure out how to see my ADR shopping cart without adding a new ADR, so I just added a new one to get to my shopping cart and then canceled it before I "checked out". That's how I found out that it wouldn't let you "check out" with two ADRs for similar times. How do you get to your ADR shopping cart without adding a new ADR?)
It took me a while to figure it out too, but you just go to "My Disney Vacation" at the top right and scroll down and click on "Saved Dining Reservations"

Ok what time did you get BD? Last time we were there May 07, we could not get the FP while we were dining our server asked us if we had the pkg I said It was sold out she said let me check, came back & we got the pkg. I know it is a long shot but it is worth a try. And I would also call back maybe once at week to check good luck. Or pray that is it really cold that nite & nobody but you goes to the show:laughing:just kidding

If you are wanting CP but can't get it, you might want to consider booking the Yuletide tour. I am thinking that is what I will spring for this year. :santa:

This time of year is always difficult for ADRs, especially if your staying offsite and you don't get the advantage of the 90+10 that Disney resort guests have. Also, Keep in mind your going literally over the Thanksgiving weekend, which Disney World will be packed. Eventhough, Your going to be there the beginning of the next week you will still have some spillover from the holiday. My family and I use to go down every year for about three or four years in a row, and then all of a sudden Walt Disney World became a holiday/long weekend destination, so because of the crowds during that time we have pulled back from going. I will be there the very next weekend, but it will be nothing like Thanksgiving weekend (November 26th to November 29th). Hopefully, Something opens up for you as I am crossing my fingers for some ressies in about two days timeframe...

Dont feel bad--I could not get LeCellier Candlelight package either. I also could not get dinner at LeCellier. We are staying on property and I booked dining on line--no availability at LeCellier. I called at exactly 7am for the CP package and could not get it. I had to take Coral Reef, which I guess will be okay.

Hang in there and keep trying. You never know.

Even though I sympathize with the OP and will recommend that she keep trying, as people are always moving their ADRs around, I do not think it would be a good idea for Disney to cancel ADRs just because someone cancels their resort resservation. I go to WDW several times a year (always stay on property), but may change my resort reservations around depending on what deals may come out and also if my traveling party changes. For my upcoming Sept/Oct trip I started off with free dining at AS Sports that I booked last Sept during the free dining bounce back offers. I then later decided to upgrade to CSR (still on free dining). When the AP discounts came out, I canceled my free dining ressie and used the AP discount. I would have been very upset if Disney canceled my dining reservations every time I had to cancel my resort reservation. I've also done the same thing for my upcoming Dec trip. I've switched from a ressie using a 40% PIN code I received, to the AP discount, to free dining. I've also swtiched from a Moderate resort, to a Value resort, then back to a different Moderate. Just because people change their resort reservation does not mean that they are no longer staying on site. I do think it is wrong though for people who have every intention of staying off site, to book a on site ressie, just to take advantage of the 90+10 perk though.

What is the Yuletide tour???
This is a special tour that takes you throughout WS and into MK..you also make a stop at the GF. You get to check out the behind the scenes area for the holiday makings as well.
I did it a few years ago...it was fun, but not as good as the KTTK tour. There was a lot of time spent getting on and off the bus and then traveling from one place to another.

Wow, not very encouraging for getting the CP while we're there. :headache:

My ADR date is coming up and we're staying CL, so I was just leaving the work up to IPO. Now I'm wondering whether I should be up early and clicking like mad for my ADRs to make sure that we get something?!!

{{sigh}}

1) This is one reason they are going back to the 180-day ressie.
2) It will allow more time for folks to get it for ADR's.
3) I also heard a conversation with another reason.
4) Seems WDW is getting a lot of room cancellations.
. . . to get ADR's, people make a fictitious resort ressie
. . . they book their ADR's
. . . cancel the resort ressie and get their room deposit refund
. . . they have their ADR's and it cost them nothing.
5) If this were not bad enough, some booked Club Floor
. . . the IPO (concierge) would make the ADR ressies
. . . the guest didn't even have to do any phone work
. . . this left a lot of unsold Club Floor rooms
6) I thought folks took advantage of Disney.
7) But, I did think it was kind of a cute thing to do.

I really think the problem doesn't necessarily lie with with when the bookings open. They had the same problem even when the booking window was 180 days. Whether it's 90 days or 180 days - if you're opening up that "+ 10" part, you're really putting people at a disadvantage for the first days of their vacation.

If I'm checking in on September 15 - that means my booking window opens on June 17. The problem is though, that other people have been able to book for September 15 since June 7, depending on when their vacation starts.

I think as much of a pain as it would be to get up every morning, I think if they go back to a policy of booking x number of days from the date you want to dine, I think people may find somewhat more availability. If you want to put guests staying on property at an advantage, have guests staying at a Disney resort able to book 180 days out. Have everyone else able to book 170 days out. Or 90 days/80 days. You get the drift.

My window opens up in the morning and I feel like I'm preparing for battle. My sister is coming over with her lap top so she can be working on different days than me. I've been playing with the system and think I know it well enough. Opening several tabs and having them on your restaurants works beautifully. I'll be sooooooooooooo glad when tomorrow morning comes and goes and I can relax with what ever I'm blessed to get. Good luck all!

I had a hunch there were a few, who-clearly-know-how-the-system-operates, would take advantage of this loophole. However going so far as to take advantage of perk's at CL too, WOW...that's just WRONG!!!

Wow! That's pretty low. I guess I'm not that cunning because I never in my life would've imagined doing that.

To the OP, we're staying CL and our window opened today. I did get all the restaurants I wanted, however I have a few that are much later ADR's than originally planned. Our ADR at O'hana is at 8:15 pm and our 1900 Park Fare ADR is at 7:40 pm. Luckily we'll have the appetizers to help tide us and the kids over. I even went online myself after they sent me my ADR's and found that there is now NOTHING open at O'hana the day we wanted it and nothing but the 7:40 or later seating at Park Fare. Just keep trying because people cancel.

I'm nervous about getting ours too! I'm hoping that we aren't wanting what everyone else wants but I'm not overally optimistic! I just want tomorrow morning to be over with!!

OP, sorry you didn't get what you are wanting, good luck!!!

I am in a similar situation. I was supposed to go next week, and when I did make my ressies, I got everything I wanted. I go in sept every year. I have a family situation that prevents me from going next week, so I changed my reservations last night to dec 2-13th. Without having time to plan or understand that time of year, I booked my ressies and had to play with dates and times. They did have a cp package avail, but I don't even know what that is. It was around dec 3rd or 4th, if anyone is interested. I am happy with what I do have and have even gotten Le Cellier, cp, and cm. I just have not bought the christmas party tickets for dec 4th yet. I hope they don't sell out for a couple of weeks.

as long as everybody doesn't have multiple windows open & the system crashes:laughing:
