I'm going to go cry into my pillow now.
I was doing really, really well this round, too.
I'm pretty sure these were my scores (approx. I rounded down) at each level.
Round 1 - 61K
Round 2 - 97K
Round 3 - 150K
Round 4 - 213K
...and then Round 5 - 279K.

I should be really happy that I did so well, but I'm so mad because I was SO CLOSE!

I tried forever until I finally got green car magic, so don't give up. I got to less than a hundred points away from 280k 2 different times and a lot of times at 278k and 279k and then I finally got 280k. So you can do it too. You're super super close, so you're a good enough player and I totally know you will do it.

I think I need to stop listening to Queen's "Under Pressure" while I play this game.

I'm starting to think 279K was a fluke..I keep ending at 275K.

and VMK keeps giving me these 1-star fireworks magic pins! I forgot who wanted some. I already gave 2 to ZenJD. I think Jasonpwns wanted 2. I forgot who else tho...

I'd like to know that too lol. My highest at the end of round 1 stage 3 is 46,882. I think I've once seen someone else get close to 50,000, but that's it.

ohhhhh, duh, I think 61K was at the end of round 2, stage 1.

I probably had around 47/48K at the end of round 1, stage 3.

you can get the 47,000+ on the first round if you get the lucky positioning. On level two, round one, when the two fireworks end up close to each other and get flawless on both.

Woah SillyKid, lol 3 away from a perfect round! nice, i once got to the low 12,900 on round 1. I was in my slower computer and for some reason the sluggishness helped a little and got me like 1000 pt flaws like 7x.

Has anyone seen two people have a tie score in fireworks?
I'm sure it's happened.

Don't mind me, I'm still working on my endgame (level 5, stages 2,3) here. I'm stuck in the 272-275 range.
I think my best yesterday was 277. If you're ever in the castle fireworks lobby and see me walk down the first place stairs and do the 'sick mickey' smilie, you'll know I wasn't too happy with the way a particular stage (or round) went. lol

Well, the new mouse I got before my recent high scores, is no longer working right. It's become so bouncy, that I have not been able to get near 280,000 in over a week. My high scores -- they seem like just a dream to me. I'm scoring between 6,000-10,000 lower than I usually do, and there is just no way for me to get back up there. I had thought it was just me, but the mouse is not working right in other programs as well. Looks like I am on the hunt for yet another mouse...and no more metal mousepad! It was great at the start, but I think it ruined the pads on my mouse. Dreadful!

By the way...it took me months to really improve.

end round 1 around 45K, I'm thinking "okay, not bad".
end round 2 at 95K I'm thinking "not bad".
end round 3 at 146K I'm thinking "not bad".
end round 4 at 211K I'm thinking "woah, I might have a chance."
and then finish the game less than 1K away from 280.

p.s. I was listening to Pink Floyd while playing, do you think that may have helped me from getting too wound up? maybe that and the anti-anxiety medication.

I find that I can't listen to music when I play fireworks -- actually I've found that little or no sound is best for me. You will so get there at any moment...congrats on getting this far!!

I like listening to music while I play. Helps with the scoreboard dance between levels. (or changing songs)

If I get a good score listening to a song, I'll play that same song over and over until I'm done with the game, thinking it's a 'good luck' song.

this game's song -was- "Learning to Fly" by Pink Floyd but then changed to "The Bumble Bee Tuna Song" (by another band).

I know I'll get there eventually. I'm approaching 1K hours in the quest.
