So Confused???

Hey, Everybody!!!

I am a huge Disney World fan, so I can get my way around and know how to plan a Disney trip.

Well, this year, we have decided to go to Universal, because it has been over 10 years since I have been and my DH has never been. We definitely want to stay on the property since neither of us have stayed at a Universal hotel. But I am getting a bit confused. We are looking at staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. When you book your room, do you get park passes as well or only just the FOTL deal? Where do you go to get the best deal on the hotels?

And if you don't get the park passes with your hotel booking, where do you go to get the best deal on park passes? When is the best time to go to get good rates? Do they have like what Disney has with Values rates, peak rates, etc?

And....last one, I promise....can you book your hotels for 2006 yet or are they not available?

FOTL is not really a "deal", everyone who stays on-site is able to use the room keys (which each person in your party will have) to go through the express line. Some hotels offer park passes as part a "Stay-n-Play" or some other promotional deal, but not always. And usually, these deals cannot be used with other promotional deals (like AAA/AP rates). However, AAA/AP rates are usually much cheaper than rack rates depending on the time of year you are going. There are several sites that offer hotel rooms/vacation packages...but I always book through Universal or Loews directly.

Yes, rooms are available (mostly at rack rates right now), and I have already booked mine....hoping to find a discount later. We aren't going until Sept. '06, but the week we wanted was already booked for all hotels. I think there is a convention that week though.

I still have the annual pass through AAA south for $99.

anyway this site can have some nice rates for US. but remember this is last minute deals only. the best deals are 3 or 4 nights.

sometimes AAA has good bargins.

they use to be in the entertainment book - but they weren't listed in the book I brought - so check with universal before you buy this book.

You're welcome!! I always appreciate how everyone is soooo helpful on these boards, and most of the time I have nothing to offer. I love US/IOA, so it's fun to talk to people about trip planning. Most of my friends and family are sick of hearing me talk about it as much as I do. I don't get it.... Sept. just seems so far away!!
