So confused, please help, not sure when to cancel!

No holding on them. But all that means is can’t book less than 60 days out. Since 60 days from today would be May 22nd, and they expire May 31st...unless policy changes...it wouldn’t really matter,

Personally, I think once we know further closing, DVC will be able to figure out a possible solution because at that point, they will know how many points are effected.

I think Disney will keep kicking the can down the road as far as opening date, which will make it hard to resolve this. I don’t think they are near the point where they can set a final opening date.

Honestly, what they should do, IMO, is tell DVC members that there will be no change to banking windows for anyone whose banking deadline is March and beyond,

Right now, people can cancel...given holding being waived, and still bank if they have a March 31st deadline Or later They are on notice that resorts could stay closed longer.

This would give them time to decide what to do for those whose deadlines had passed before March 1st when this all happened.

This way, it would limit the number of points, and maybe allow them to come up with the plan for the ones affected,

But, IMO, those who have trips planned now with points from 2019 Aug UY and beyond really have the ability to limit their losses.

I will even add that I am one of those people and my group has decided to chance it and not cancel our May trip, even though I know i could lose points as they are Aug 2019 points.

I read that Disney and the union are having a meeting tomorrow and there should be an update afterwards. I hope they don’t just move it two weeks, I think it’s obvious April is unlikely. I have an April 19-25 that I am delusional about. I just can’t pull the trigger, we had such great plans. Luckily it’s all current points and I have an April use year.

We have booked 5/31 on my friend’s expiring points, 1 night in a treehouse followed by 5 nights at Pop on cash. My friend is a CM and got a great rate. Never stayed at either before. If that falls through, I have Boardwalk booked for November and I’ll bank the extra points.

I'm in a similar situation. 2019 Aug UY and a May trip. I haven't pulled the plug on the May trip yet, but I will make a decision on it before the end of this month. We currently have a 1BR booked and might end up switching to the Poly to save on the number of points that would be impacted if I do have to cancel the trip after the 3/31/20 banking deadline. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will be open in May!!! Though fully aware that they might not be. :(

With an April 30th banking deadline, there is no reason to cancel now..wait it out and see what Disney does.
Our Ohio Governor said bases on the stats from China and Italy it looks like the USA will peak mid- April to early May. So it might be some time now before things start to return to normal.

Except the U.S. hasn't done the kind of virtually complete lockdown China did. Way too many here refused to comply with recommendations. That didn't happen in China.

I think it will be longer here. :( :(
