So "confused" about the NEW animal kingdom

We are going in Aug and already have our days/adr's planned (have to do it at 180 days or else). I am still confused about the changes to AK. Are the restaurants going to be open later then there normal close time of 5pm? Are there going to be other rides open after the scheduled "regular closing?" If rides arent' going to stay open, what are people going to do before the FOL show? Why does Disney not give out important information about this very big change? If they didn't make you book everything 6 months ahead of time, I wouldn't complain but they do.

I was under the impression it's just a new, later "regular closing time", not something after closing. If that's correct, there'd be no reason for the rides, shows, and food to not be operating as they've always done up till closing time. I'm not positive though, haven't been paying too much attention.

Yes Disney hasn't announced expanded park hours yet but should be anytime now.

They don't "make" you schedule anything. But hours will be extended. Rumored that AK will remain open until 10pm or 11pm instead of 5pm or 6pm

They haven't released a start date for all the new additions so they can't say when hours will officially be extended. If you're going in August though I would anticipate the park being open until about 10pm

This says April 22nd for the nighttime experiences and nighttime rides, but nothing specific as far as the dining packages.
