Hello, Looking for some pointers on photo pass . :). First if all, do you think it's worth it? Also, are pictures taken at character meets also included? And finally, how does the prepaid photo pass cd work? TIA!:thumbsup2

We loved photo pass during our trips. It let everyone get in the pictures. Meet and greets, character meals, and other locations around the parks can be added. I believe you can also upload your pictures, edit them, and have those included on the CD. The advantage of preordering is that it is $50 cheaper. If you are concerned if you will have enough pictures to make it worth the money then you can always wait until you get home to purchase the CD.

Now there is also MM (magic moments I think) which is different than photo pass where your ride photos can also be added. I have no experience with this one so maybe someone else can comment on that one.

Don't forget to ask for magic shots which are special poses where they add animated characters or props into the pictures. Lots of fun!

You cannot load your own photos and have them added to the CD. Only Disney photographer's photos are placed on the CD. That was always the case. If you wanted your own photos uploaded to the site, you could order a separate Archive CD that contained those for an additional, price. There is no more Photopass going forward, it is called Memory Maker and it doesn't work the same way exactly. There is a good FAQ thread about it here in this forum but I don't have the link.

There have been a lot of changes lately.

The only pre-purchase is for "Memory Maker". It replaces Photopass+. You get all the photopass photos taken in the parks, at meals, and on rides. The photos are available to be downloaded. You no longer get a CD. If you want a CD, you can add it on for an additional $30.

Your personal photos can only be upload for use in photo products, like a photobook. They no longer offer a personal photo cd.

Without pre-purchasing Memory Maker, you can purchase an "Archive CD". That refers to your photopass photos on a cd (for $169).

We have always pre-purchases some photopass pre-order on our trips and have always found it worthwile.

You can still prepurchase a Disney PhotoPass archive disc for 119. Either that or the memory maker prepurchase are your two options now.

The memory maker rides are identical to the pp+ rides.

I don't think PP+ is an option anymore! they will honour purchased ones now but it has been replaced with Memory Maker. MM works exactly like PP, the only difference is you get all ride photos (just remember the number and go to the photo counter and have it added to your Magicband if staying on site or your Memory Maker card if per purchased off side guests.)

The only real difference we see is that you don't get a cd copy but if you download them, you can burn on yourself, or send them to Walmart and they will put it on a cd cheaper than ordering on from WDW.

It is great, we have been here 4 days so far and have 197 photos on our MM already.

Ok, so I understand that MemoryMaker is what is going on now. We are intending to get it in advance, so its $50 cheaper. But once I have the MM card, and put all the photos ôn it, how do I get the photos out of it to print as I wish? :).

I don't think it is a card anymore, is it? I think it's all linked to your Magic Band. All of your photos are uploaded to your Memory Maker site and you get on there and see all of your photos and edit them and you can print from there (to somewhere like CVS, Walmart, Shutterfly, etc). The CM I talked to on the phone about it said that the photographer will scan your magic band and the photo is instantly updated in MDE. You can get your picture taken in front of the castle and 5 minutes later use your phone to log into the MDE app and see your picture already.

Nah, it can take longer than that. Photos are moderated before they are allowed to post so it can take up to 24 hours for the mTo appear.

If you are staying onsite and have magic bands, they will scan your MB.
If you are staying off site, you need to get a card from Will Call/guest services and that is what the photographers scan.

Either way, your MM account needs to get linked to your MDE account, which you can do online, over the phone with a CM or at Guest Services at the park. And all the people in your party need to be linked as well.

To view your pictures you can go to
https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/ or view them off of your MDE account.
If you have a card there is a spot on the website where it says "Claim photos" and you click that button. Then you type in the number on the back of the card and it loads all the pictures from the card to your account. You only have to do that once, because after the card number is loaded it will automatically load more pictures as they come in.

This works the same for the Enchanted Tales with Belle Photo card you will get. You go onto the site, hit claim photos, type in the number off the back of the belle card and the photos will come up (You will get ALL the photos from your enchanted Tale session, which means other kids and people too)

Once you get all your pictures off of the photopass website or off of the MDE website you can download them all onto your own computer and also make changes to them and download all the changed ones as well. I will eventually save them to a CD myself, that is after I print some from shutterfly and make a book and all that.

Pictures from the rides, from meals, etc can be added to your memory maker via the same card you use throughout or through your magic bands.

It really is a pretty simple system- scan the card or the band for all photo ops, get the pictures off the website, download onto your computer.

I brought my laptop down with me and I checked all the pictures each night.

Also the CMs who answer the phone with the memory maker phone number and the CM that work in the photo shop at the DHS are super helpful. They can answer any questions you have, can help link your accounts to your bands or cards, they can help you add people to the account and over all are great for answering questions. Oh, and if you find you are missing some pictures (we were missing photos from our Jake the Pirate M&G), just call them. The CM I spoke with found the pictures in about 3 minutes and uploaded them for me.

All in all, we loved Memory and Maker and found it was well worth it. In 3 days we had over 175 pictures. BUT we did lots of meet and greets and took advantage of looking for the park photographers around the park and really utilized it. We used it as kind of a scavenger hunt and made sure we got our picture taken whenever we could. So for us, it was worth it!

Good luck!

I don't see the archive disc pre-purchase listed anymore. Where do you see this?

Do you only get one card? What happens if my family splits up? How can the card be in two places at one time...to catch photos on two different rides without the card holder having to go to the other attraction?

Only one card, so if you split up, have the group without the card write down their photo numbers. Then go back to those rides' photo desks with the card and the numbers within 24 hours to claim the pictures.

Does anyone know: For a ride photo, Do you have to go over to the photo counter after the ride to have them scan your band? Do you wait for your photo to come up to show them which photo?

Yes you go to the counter, give them the photo #, they verify it's your picture, and they add it to your account.

Thanks, krb2g!

Still not sure I want to do this because I don't feel like backtracking. I don't really know that we would utilize it to the full extent to get out money out of it. I may need to do some more research. We don't have any character meals at this time...I just wonder if getting pictures with our own camera may be the way. And do a regular PP and order the few I may want.

I see it now! I hadn't been able to find that since the new photopass website went up.

In case anyone else is looking for this, when I first went to the above link, it redirected me to login. After logging in, it only shows the memory maker pre-pay. I went back to the link and then it worked. I finally found it from the main page. At the bottom in the "Learn About" section, there is a link for Disney PhotPass Archive Disc. The pre-order is on that page.

However, for $30 more I think the Memory Maker package is totally worth it! That is the price of only 2 ride photo downloads; We end up with way more than that. (Just my opinion).

We used PhotoPass+ on our last two trips and loved it. I will be ordering Memory Maker for our next trip.

Thanks for the thread. I have a question. When I bought Memory Maker I was told I needed to go to Will Call at the park to pick up my MM Welcome Packet. What's in the packet and do I need it? If I need it, do i need to get it at the beginning of my first day?

If no one knows, do you have the phone number to Memory Maker so I can find out? I really appreciate it!
