Hi everyone!!

My sister lives in Southern California, but lives quite a distance from DL. She and her family just drove to the parks (they are staying with friends a few minutes away) and realized they left their ID's at home!! They are trying to get a photocopy of their licenses or something b/c they are planning on going to the parks tomorrow. She had bought the So Cal Res ticket online and has the tickets on her phone, but is worried they may ask for ID and not except the photocopy (if she can get it in time). For those using the So Cal discount ticket, have they checked your ID this year? If so, what ID did they accept? Was it anything other than a driver's license? I know this has been asked already, but I'm wondering if there has been any update from those that have actually gone to the parks this year....

Why not a digital image sent to the phone of the ID?

Worse case scenario, if they won't accept a copy, they wil be allowed to upgrade to a regular ticket (pay the price difference) so the money isn't lost.

But last I heard, they are checking ID's at the turnstiles.

Will that be accepted you think? A picture of the ID on the phone? She can definitely do that.

Not sure, but a lot easier than the photocopy issue. And the same in the end, a copy.

Worst case, they pay the upcharge to come in as non-residents. Best case, they accept an image.

How did Sis get all the way there without an ID? Driving and flying both require one.

So they both drove without licenses on them? Lucky they didn't get pulled over. P

Honestly, they should drive back and get them. How did they all forget? Do they not keep them in wallets? What if they are asked for ID when using a credit card? What if they want to buy a drink?

It's not a good idea to be away from home without ID...

driving doesn't require an id for everyone, though, only the driver, just saying :P

besides that it's certainly possible to forget one's wallet at home and simply not realize you're driving without your driver's license... i've done it. :x

I've done that too, before. But not when going on a vacation on which I'll also need the credit cards in the same wallet (and a few of the CMs were diligent about getting ID with our CC purchases). I'm not bagging on your sis, I just do find it unusual and surprising.

I realize it's probably too late now, but couldn't someone have 'overnighted' the documents to them? We overnighted docs to So Cal around 11am and they arrived around 10 the following morning.

Uhh... if she and her family are in SoCal with no IDs, how are they gonna get copies of the IDs they left at home? Ah so apparently they must have someone back home, then I'm totally with @StormyCA and would have that person overnight the IDs (or at least one of the IDs) because I think it's not a great idea to walk/drive around far from home with no one in the group having official id cards (and we also had some cast members who insisted on IDs with credit card purchases).

Getting photocopies sent seems like the same as having the actual IDs sent. Would the person who was going to send copies be willing to drive part way and meet one of them with the IDs? I find it hard to believe that they were able to check into a hotel with IDs. I don't think they'll make it into the park and be able to use a credit card without being asked to show one too.

No hotel, friend's house.

OP, how far DO they live from Anaheim?

Bank statements with their address is enough if they have another form of identification on them.

Does their car registration list their home address? Is there a utility bill in the car. If they do get copies of the IDs, I'd bring those along as well. Another option is to see if the friend is able to go with them to the turnstile at first entry and show their ID.

Disney will require actual photo IDs. Official ones.

They will not accept a photo of one, or a car registration. They will need to see an actual ID.

And they WILL be asked for ID eventually if they are paying with credit cards.

This story seems fishy. Seriously...they ALL left their IDs home? Okay...

If they have an ID without an address Disney accepts a utility bill with that. There's a chance a lead could override, which is why I'd try with everything they have, but I agree it's better to just send someone home to get the IDs and not leave it to chance.

I like the idea of overnighting the ID, in fact, there are companiues that do same day delivery within Southern California. Heck, FedEx offers it.

They MAY be, but they may also tell anyone who asks to take a flying leap off Paradise Pier or into the Rivers of America.
