Has anyone NOT from Southern California ever purchased a So. Cal Annual Pass? On the Disneyland website, it appears that anyone can purchase these--they don't seem to ask where you live. If that's true, it would be a cheaper alternative than the 3-day hopper passes, as long as you weren't hitting black-out days, plus you get the AP perks of restaurant discounts, etc.

I'm tempted to buy some (I live in No. California), but would like to know of anyone else's experience with this first! (i.e. I'm chicken!)

My boys and husband all have So. Cal passes and we live near Sacramento. I just went to the window and bought them with no problems and I gave my real addy! :D

Good thing about the AP's right now is if you have an AP you can buy a 2 day 2 park pass for friends and family for only $69!

You just have to be REAL careful about the black out days - figure most folks outside So Calif will be here during peak vacation seasons or coming down from No Calif on weekens - and that's mostly when So Calif APs are blacked out.

Anyone who has recently gone *might* be able to answer this question for me.....We have So Cal AP's and are *thinking* of renewing them....but we DON'T live in So. Cal (and never have and never will!) and am wondering if they WILL renew them for us when it is time.

Some people have posted that they are cracking down and ONLY allowing people in certain zip codes to acquire them now.

Anybody out there able to answer that? We are heading toward "The Happiest Place On Earth" this Sunday (09/28) for a few days!

You cannot purchase the So Cal AP online if you're not in the right area. We're from TX and purchased them at the park last year, but when I tried to order one online for my Mother a few weeks ago, it would not let me since my billing/shipping address was not in So Cal.

mareed, *WHAT IF* we are going to BE there in PERSON and we already have our passes from LAST year. They were issued to us last November.

When we purchased them they did NOT say ANYTHING about HAVING to be an actual Southern California resident! We DO live in California.....just in the CENTER of the state!

I don't want to purchase them now anyway...so I wouldn't do it ONLINE...I would MUCH rather purchase them in PERSON and pay cash for them. WE NEVER (or hardly ever) use credit. Just NOT the way we do things!

So just trying to figure out if they will still allow us to have the So Cal pass or not. Some people say they are being VERY strict about the whole zip code thing.

Thanks so much for your responses!

CaliforniaTink, I've heard that some people have been able to renew a So Cal AP at the park even if they're not in one of the So Cal zip codes, so I'd try it at the park if I were you, but I'd be prepared to have to upgrade to the Deluxe AP.

We were there in July and had to upgrade my son's pass from So Cal to Deluxe due to blackout dates, and they did not mention anything about no longer being able to get the So Cal since we're from TX. We're leave Saturday and I still need to get a pass for my Mother who is from OK. I'm prepared to get the Deluxe AP, but will ask about the So Cal.

I was going to say I'd report back here after we return, but I see you're also going this weekend, so that won't help you! Enjoy your trip whatever pass you end up getting.

HI. We took friends to Disney for Mother's Day and they tried to get Southern California passes, but were told no. They live in Vegas, but my friends dad lives in California. The rep wouldn't let her use the CA address so they ended up with the Deluxe. I do know however, you can take your passes into the park and upgrade there. The only problem you will encounter is not receiving your newsletters since Disney doesn't have your updated address.

The confusing thing about these passes is that people keep posting conflicting stories. Some are able to buy the SC pass, and others are not. I really think it has to do with the rep you are working with as some are much more strict than others. My sister in law was able to purchase 3 SC passes in January, even after she gave the rep her New Mexico address.

Whatever happens, I wish you the best!

Hi..Just got back from DL & DCA.

I checked into the renewal of our SCAP....was told we could do it. But this would be the LAST time that we would be able to do that. Next year we would have to upgrade to the Deluxe pass.

Well, we went to DL & DCA FOUR times this year...so we had a big family *pow wow* ....we all came to the conclusion that we want to wait a few years now before we go back. It has kind of lost its magical touch for us all.

So I think if we go back in three years (or even TWO) it will be more special.

We had a great time though. Stayed at the PPH..no crowds (longest line was *maybe* 10 minutes) NEVER used a Fast Pass! Weather was Fabulous, too! :sunny:
