So, BWV has bad internet? DD needs to do work...

I did a search about BWV internet service and see that I should not get our hopes up DD has her last college course (online) and needs to use the computer this coming week. Our trip was planned well in advance of her signing up for this.

Any thoughts or suggestions? (at least I have an excuse if I forget to check my work emails )

You might get lucky and have decent wifi. Some have posted here that their Internet service was okay at BWV. But I would bring a device for a mobile hotspot or a tablet with cellular data service. Another less convenient option would be to find wifi off property (like Panera). I have never used the business center at BWI. I wonder if you can pay for a wired connection there?

I travel quite a bit, and hotel network connectivity is always hit-or-miss; you just can't depend on it. About half the time, I find myself needing to use one of my cellular devices. In fact, I travel with two, one on ATT and one on Verizon, just in case one has poor coverage.

I found using my actual laptop got me a better connection than my phone on wifi or 4g. I agree with others, when I used to travel all the time, internet was hit or miss everywhere.

Another vote for mobile hotspot.

We have 4G devices and find the speed and performance is better than wifi at hotels, restaurants, coffee shop, etc.

We enable our Verizon mobile hotspot for a month right before we leave. Then, disable it at the end of the 30 days.

I just checked out of BWV after 3nights. (over at BCV now). Happy to report that I had great Internet service while there. No drops and good speed. Maybe I was just in a lucky location but I was happy with the vast improvement.

However I agree with others who suggested coming prepared just to make sure.

I'm happy to find good wi-fi by the BCV quiet pool.

I am sitting on my balcony at BWV right now using the hotel
wifi on my laptop. So far so good. Connected quickly, fast speed and hasn't dropped yet.

My wife is a univ. professor and taught her online courses from our room at bwv just a few weeks ago. No real issues but we have iphones and can activate them as hotspots if we need to. Good luck,

It looks like you will find out what the wifi is like today. One other option to consider is to take the labtop to Epcot and find a quiet area to sit and work. The park wifi was excellent when we were there last month!

We're back from our trip and I just wanted to follow up that our WiFi was fine at the BWV! DD21 was able to do her online midterm (97%!!) with no problem and the other kids were able go online, doing whatever they do

Glad it went well, OP! It seems to me that we are seeing fewer internet problems being reported here on the DIS. Maybe Disney is working on it!

I actually just answered a Disney survey about my stay at BWV and there were many questions about the WiFi, so it seems they are trying to improve!

We just got back from BWV, and had a bad time with the WiFi. We were in the furthest room from the lobby (3136). The only place I could connect with my iPad was standing right inside the door with the iPad on that little shelf that's there, and even then it kept dropping.

However, in October we were in a std view room (maybe around 3121 or so, right before the hallway takes that last right), and I had no drops or connection issues at all over our 12 day trip. I chalk it up to location.....and based on my experience, I think closer to the lobby might be better.
