So bummed - laid off today

I am so bummed. I was laid off today. Only been at the job 3 months and I LOVED it. The only good thing is I will be spending more time with my kids. We are going to reduce them in daycare down to 3 half days a week. It is so weird. I have never been unemployed except for maternity leave.

I guess I am going to have to get some projects and some scrapping done. I will just have to learn how to scrap without spending too much money.

Is that even possible?

I'm sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad you're looking for the upside.

As for scrapping without spending a lot, it absolutely CAN be done. Make it a challenge to scrap with only items you have on hand. That turns a "shopping ban" into a creative challenge rather than deprivation and makes it fun.

I'm sorry about your job. Spending more time with the kids is definitely a good thing though!!!! Years ago when my job was eliminated and I became a SAHM, it was scary and it was hard to get used to living off just one income. But, overall, it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. I hope it all works out for you.

Sorry to hear about your job. I was laid off from my job when my kids were 1, 2 and 6 - (Oh 11 years ago) and it was the best thing for us. I stayed home for years and loved it.

I am sorry to hear about your lay off. That must have been a shock. However, I am a firm believer of things happening for a reason even if it sucks sludge water at the time. Good for you for thinking positively, enjoy the extra time with the kids, enjoy your time when they are at day care for the three days.

Sounds like you are definately staying positive about it. I'm sure we'll find some resourceful ways to scrap Maybe I'll just have to have a crop night at my house I have A TON of supplies - probably enough to open a store!

Thanks everyone. I have already cleaned out my garage. Been to the store, the post office, taken the kids to daycare, done the dished, applied to several jobs, and sent a bunch of emails. All this this morning. I will have the afternoon to do some scrapping and put together some crop in style cubes I purchased before the layoff. Can you tell I like to be busy!!! Since we already paid for daycare for this week the kids are in full day. It is so weird being home with no children.

Kind of spooky!!! Maybe I will post a picture of my scrap space when it is reorganized.

Sorry to hear about the loss, but at the same time you are getting a lot done and the bonus of it all is more time with kids! How can that be a bad thing?

With every downfall comes a great upswing. My husband lost his job over a year ago and he used to commute over an hour to get there, the very NEXT DAY after he lost his job he went into some places and he got a job paying loads more and guess what?? He works across the street now!! haha!
