I am so bummed over this. We got a new pc and my photoshop program is on the old one. I have looked all over for my disk and can not find it anywhere. Now I do not have anything to edit with. :( I was just getting used to my PS and loving it so much. Is there any way I can get it to my new computer? I can not go out and buy the program again so it will be to either get it on here from my other pc or I guess do without.

Any ideas guys???

Thanks so much guys! I was hoping for a way to do it that would not cost me anymore. I just did buy ps not too long ago at all and can not turn around and spend more money now on anything else. How frustrating. I hate that I lost the disk and can not move it to my new pc now. :sad2: My luck though. Get all happy about one thing and get mad about another..lol

Call Adobe, they can probably get your activation code from your PC and issue you new software once they have verified you own it.

First, I would KEEP LOOKING for your discs, they have to be somewhere. I can't imagine you would throw out something like that. You probably put them in that SPECIAL place so you could find them when you needed them again. I have several of those places and know they roam around the house when I'm not looking because I never seem to be able to remember WHERE THEY ARE when I need something. I think I lost my original PSCS discs for over a year. Luckily I didn't NEED them during that time however.

If that ultimately fails, I agree with boBQuicy. Call Adobe.

Finally, if that doesn't work and if you don't need the other computer you could try to plug the hard drive from your old computer into the new one as a secondary drive making sure that you keep the original hard drive of the new computer as the boot drive. I have done this to retreive data files before but not sure how this would affect the functionality of an executable program such as Photoshop. It likely wouldn't work properly due to reliance on the Window's registry configuration that occurs during the installation process, but then again, it might. Just be sure to take all precautions against ESD damage to either computer while working with them.

Good luck!

Definitely that will not work, there are too many registry entries there. It's not a standalone (ie: modular) program.

Can it mirror everything on the C drive to a new HDD? I've been wanting to upgrade my C drive from 7,200 rpm to 10,000 rpm but I don't want to re-install everything again.

PS: I know from the website it claims that it can mirror the C drive, but have you had any exdperience yourself? The reason I'm asking because Norton Ghost is supposed to be able to do that (according to their website and what's writen on their packaging) but after spending $60 on Norton Ghost (yeah crazy pricing in Canada), copying my C drive to a new drive, physically installed the new drive as C drive, Windows won't start. This happens to 6 out of 6 friends who tried to upgrade their C drives as well.
