Hey all.. :goodvibes

So besides GayDays per se.. is there any other time of year to visit 'the World' which would have a higher-than-average incidence of homosexual visitors?

Thanks,

Knox

When I've gone in early to mid September I've found LOTS of people of the homosexual persuasion in Disney. Seriously though not last September but the year before , I had to ask myself if I missed some type of new gay gathering at WDW because there was so many gay people. I made an assumption that since it was still warm and most all kids were back in school at this time then the gays must just travel at this time. Well I mean I WAS there and I count too! <G>

Ok.. interesting.

I was thinkin the other day .. that since I just went.. THIS years GayDays is likely out.. and waiting till NEXT years GayDays seems so long..

Heck.. we went at the end of Feb and I met TONS of people at Pleasure Island every night....

I suspect ANYTIME is probably good... right? Of course September might be do-able.... :)

Living locally we can go pretty much whenever we want. But we don't miss Epcot Food & Wine. While we hope to go several times, we must go at least once.

The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is also a nice time to visit.

I received the 40% off mailer.. and can still book again (pending availability of course).. on various dates thru the end of the year. I have to book by March 15th with that offer.

40% off a value season .. (December 10th to 21st) at a value resort is virtually irresistible. Eleven nights room only with taxes is something ridiculous like 610$ !!??!

I'm almost thinking - book now.. and as long as I cancel 45 days or more out.. no biggie.

Almost any time there is another major event, we'll attend. Food and Wine Festival is a big deal, as is the Flower and Garden Show and the Art Show. To a lesser extent, Star Wars Weekends (and not for us at all, but for others) Super Soap Weekend.

Essentially, when do we go? Any day we please. :teeth:

OMG - Super Soap weekend .. YES! That would be an awesome time to go ...

*ahem..* Not cause I watch soaps or anything but rather because..

Ok.. who am I kidding. I'm addicted to GH.

Joe and I used to go at all times throughout the year. Been there February, March, April, May, June, August, September, October, November and early December. We've never felt anything but welcome and have always enjoyed ourselves.

If you're looking for a specific time/place to mix/mingle with other gay folks, any Thursday night at that club with the spinning dance floor is a pretty safe bet.

Why in heck can I not think of the name of that joint? Driving me nuts.

Manniquins. Yah.. on Thursday, March 1st it was nearly 100% 'our people'.

I went to PI every night pretty much of our past trip.. met lots of people and talked them up -- which is pretty much why I went.

I wasn't looking for or interested in anything beyond that.. and had to make that clear a couple of times.. but it was all good.

We really liked October, the weather was great, the crowds were moderate, and the Food & Wine Festival was fun. We don't give much thought to when other gay people are going to be there, because they are there everyday.

But no visits to the Poly eh? Hehe, j/k.

Mannequins is gay pretty much every Thursday. It's the day Disney CMs get paid, and so all of the gay CMs go either there or Motion. So it's pretty much most CMs...lol

October also gets busy because of "OctoBEARfest"

Yeah and I felt bad about that.

Friday morning I was going to swing over and try to say hi.. but then i started thinking about Friday's being busy.. and my travelling companions were like "Noo.. we must go shopping.."

Oye. I bought 2 t-shirts at the Abercrombie-knock-off in the Florida mall.. They spent like ... almost 2k between the three of them.

I was sitting on the bench in the middle of the mall with all the single guys whose girlfriends were shopping. Not fun.

Yeah.. I was in deep lust with a guy from the front desk of Pop Century and ran into him at Mannequins on Thursday night. (drool) We talked and hung out some. Cool guy.

*sigh*

What is that rule about CM/Guest Fraternization? Grr.. :)

We go in Nov usually as the kids are at school and flights are cheaper for us from the UK. I have a friend that is working on the International Program and has also done the CP so we go out to see him and his partner. Mannequins is great but my partner is 19 so he can't get in on a Thurs but I have been in before.

I lived in Orlando for a while, and met "family" in the World at many different times of the year. Although, it's true that it's easier to strike up a conversation at Mannequins when you know that the odds are in your favor! Hehehe....

My partner and I did get propositioned by another couple once while dining at the California Grill, of all places....... I guess they thought that a round of drinks was going to buy them something else......

But, for the most part, EVERYONE who goes to WDW is there for the same reason, and you can always find someone to talk to!

WHAT WHAT what whatttt <G>

What's this , I never heard / knew that. Anything specific or no?

hhmmmm my b-day isssss in Oct too, maybe I'll find a reason to go<G>

Forgot to follow up on this LOL. I think the actuall name of our local celebration is "Bear-Busted" and is primarily held at Full Moon Salon and Parliment House (with some other local venues celebrating as well). OctoBEARfest is in Key West I think.

THANKS ConcKahuna for the info. Although I usually do not rent a car , I've never had a problem taking a cab off property to have a good time <G> !!!

A cab to the Full Moon from Disney! My God! That would cost you a fortune! :scared1:

Maybe I need to open a shuttle service......:confused3

It does cost a fortune. We always go to WDW during Bear Bust, and went to the dance at Full Moon once. Lots of bears are in the parks then, so no need to travel off property for some eye candy. This also during Food and Wine, and we always bump into guys we know from CA. that we see at Disneyland. We also always see guys I know from the Boston area too.
