Just curious... Live about 2 hr. from disney (fl. resident) and wanted to do a quickie weekend overnighter on 10/20/07. With as many resort rooms as Disney has, they told me the only room they had to offer me was at the CR for $400/nt! This was including both resident and rack rates. I was hoping for a moderate room, so it looks like it'll be a no go (man, and really wanted to check out that food/wine fest).

Anyway, any tips on still getting ANYTHING for a reasonable rate on site? And, I know, It'd be crazy to hope the'd give me the CR at any discounted rate (like moderate range). I guess last minute doesn't work with the mouse!

Call exactly at 7:00am tomorrow morning, that is when any cancelled rooms will be put back into the inventory. I have done this and scored what I wanted. Also check with AAA if you have a membereship, and check sites like Expedia and Travelocity. If you have a Sam's Club membership, their site has a section for travel and sometimes they have availability.

Check Orbitz.com. I saw another thread that mentioned some deals in October. I just checked, and, while I didn't see deals, I saw some values for $99 and $111 (depending on if you are going for one or two nights).

Sometimes the FL Res section of the WDW website shows different availability than when you call CRO (and vice versa) and right now, the website shows CSR available @ $129 plus tax if that's of any interest at all :
